The contact owns a 2000 Ford Mustang gt. The contact stated that the fuel tube net is rusting out on the vehicle. The contact stated that because of the failure, fuel spills out of the gas tank whenever it is filled. The dealer had not inspected the vehicle, but stated that the tanks are on back order because of the high number of failures. The failure mileage was 82000 and the current mileage was 83000.

Called Ford dealership to ask if a there was a recall, no recall at all. Took vehicle for service and neck filler was replaced. They had no clue what caused a neck filler to go bad. Ford should look into this for safety reasons.
When filling gas the gas pours out of the fill pipe befor it has shut off the pump. This has happened at most pumps that I have visited. There is no way to tell your are near the top of the tank. The gas just spills out for a few seconds. Could cause fires, enviromental damage and damage to paint on cars.
Whenever I try and fuel the car the nozzle cuts off. This means I have to fill cans and then transfer fuel to the tank with a funnel.
