Was driving on the freeway on my gay home and when I exit the thermostat housing started leaking antifreeze and my tires got damped with the antifreeze and then when I was driving one the painted road my car fishtailed and lost control of the car until it came to a complete stop I was able to take control and turned back on the road when I got to the next stop light it started to release steam from under the hood. Good thing I was a Saturday afternoon and I did not hit nor got hit by any drivers. I have a dash cam that captured the event as it happened. The video is too big to upload.
I was driving the car on a familiar narrow winding road, at approximately 25 mph, approaching a curve to the right, when it suddenly unintentionally accelerated. This sudden acceleration caused the car to plunge off of the side of the road, down a very steep bumpy hill several hundred feet before finally stopping. I was frantically applying the brakes, but they seemed noneffective. The car is totaled, there is property damage, I was charged with reckless operation, my back is injured. Now I am struggling to prove that none of this is my fault.
I have receive numerous "re call" letters from "Ford'. I finally made time to take my car in to my local dealer ,because my recall was about my airbags. Little did I know that my local dealer was gonna break my dash to where now I cant park outside because when it rains , my car gets soaked from the broken dash. I tried taking it back and all they said was that they were gonna check it but that they didnt do anything to it. After sitting all day outside my local dealer they have the nerve to charge me $$$$ for checking it. Which by the way they said they couldnt replace my recall. Now every time I receive these letters makes me believe that is a scam from my local deal( Ford). Please tell me where do you have honest people (Ford company ) that I can take this recall to?.
Car is surging when foot is on brake. Stalling out on highway when slowing down almost causing wrecks. I now have to keep foot on brake and gas same time.
To whom it concerns, back in October of 2013, I purchased a used, but very well kept, 2006 Ford Mustang gt premium. After a year or so, I experienced a problem that has left me afraid to drive the car. While slowly pulling into a parking space to park my car, I brought the vehicle to a complete stop, about to shift into park, while my foot was still depressing the brake pedal, the engine began to throttle up overpowering the brakes causing the back wheels to spin and the car to move forward. The harder I pushed down the brake pedal, the more it throttled up until it shot me up and over the cement wheel stop in front of the parking stall and onto the grass median at which time I turned the ignition off and slammed the shifter up into park. I was dumbfounded! I thought maybe somehow when my foot was on the brake pedal, it was also catching the side of the accelerator pedal thus making it seem like the harder I pushed down on the brake pedal, the more the engine would throttle up as well. I eventually shook it off and went about my day. Three days later, while pulling into my brothers garage and again, coming to a complete stop, it throttled up again the same way and my brother was standing in front of the car. He thought I was playing until he saw the panic on my face. He no sooner jumped out of the way when the car shot forward almost hitting him! this continues to happen never knowing when or where. It also has done this while just slowing down to almost a stop. I contacted Ford who claimed ignorance and wouldn't do anything to help. Looked online for others having this problem and found hundreds of posts, even law suites against Ford. I noticed people describing the accelerator sticking or going to the floor. That can't happen, there's no cable connection to the throttle. Electrical or computer defect in Ford's drive by wire system. This needs to be fixed! help!.
Rug on front passenger side is very wet. Just forward of the seat, just inside of the door sill. Appears to be water, not coolant. Unknown source. Door rubber seals are fine, as are window channels, door drain slots are clear.
The purpose of this complaint is to report a vandalism incident. The vehicle is a 2006 Ford Mustang. The resident is at 7141 donnell place, district heights, MD 20747.
A few weekends ago I purchased a very nice looking 06 Mustang gt with 87,000 (apx) miles. Car had just been cleaned up very nicely and looked like a good deal. On the way home I took it through the car wash and came to discover why it had been so cleaned out. Water began pouring in under the passenger side glove compartment. Like a water fall. The water didn't stop until there was a good 4 inches on the floor. What a nightmare. The water smelled terrible. I smell a awful mold/mildew smell now that won't go away. There were small electrical issues at the time that seem to have cleared up. . . For now. An internet search revealed the drainage holes under the cowl were plugged and an investigation verified the problem. Clearing of the drainage holes took only a few minutes, but I fear the damage may be there and will cause serious issues in the future if the wires should ever rust. An electrical failure is scary. Electrical components control. . Well. . The entire car. Cruse control, windows, anti-lock brakes, air bags, etc. I'd hate my air bags to deploy while driving. And the mold in the carpet can't be healthy either. Ford needs to acknowledge this problem and repair these vehicles at no cost to the consumer. This is not only an inconvenience, but the electrical aspect of the situation makes this an extremely dangerous gamble. When this car is paid off, I'm getting a different summertime fun car, and it won't be another Ford. Unless Ford takes responsibility for the issue.
During rain or rinsing of car wash, water leaks inside cabin. Water has started corrosion in small areas under dash where it has contacted wires.
While trying to pass a car to my right, during mid-level acceleration, my engine experienced uncontrolled acceleration from 40mph to 70mph before I could respond and turn the ignition to the off position, killing the engine. This is the fourth time this has happened to me in two years. The first time was under hard acceleration while trying to merge into traffic. The engine red-lined and I had to put the cat in neutral and shut off the ignition. The next three time I experienced this was during moderate to light acceleration in passing cars between the speeds of 35mph and 45 mph. I have eliminated the floor mat as a cause for this. I have the anchor and grommet type mat that cannot slide forward. My fear is that a less experienced driver would have crashed in any of these four occurrences.
This is the second time this has happened. My gas pedal has gotten stick to the floor and will not let up unless I shut the car off, wait about 10 seconds then start it up again. I’m not sure if it has something to do with the throttle body getting stuck open or what. It’s pretty frightening. I’m almost scared to drive the car especially when I have the kids.
Was driving into a convenience store parking lot, car suddenly started to accelerate , immediately tried to apply the brakes, did no good, slammed the car into park. (rpm's were really racing high) very scary. Was only 10-15 feet from going through the store!!!!! we have now experienced sudden acceleration on 3 separate occasions going back 5 years. We are the original owners of the car and have not received any recall notices. Help.
Happened 2 consecutive days. My wife was driving at around 30-40 miles per hour and all of a sudden it's like the car took off and began accelerating on its own. Breaking would not really slow it down. She was lucky enough to be able to throw the car in neutral ti shiite down but the vehicle kept revving. She had to shut it down and remove the key before it would stop. It's scary when it happens. It happened to me a day earlier at the time I thought it was a fluke. Hopfully too many people don't get killed before the NHTSA takes action. I see hundreds of complaints with the same issue on this vehicle.
My car idles uncontrollable and jerks whenever it is driven. If I stop or drive at slow speeds it will just stop running on its own. I simply restart it and it will go, but it will keep jerking and idling.
I had to replace a defective throttle body due to repeated warning lights and "limp-home" mode events.
My 2006 Ford Mustang gt had only 14,000 miles on it when I noticed while hand washing my Mustang the hood had bubbles in the paint. The aluminum hood was showing signs of corrosion. My Mustang is in mint condition (other than the corrosion of the hood). My Mustang has less than 20k original miles, lives in the garage at home and at work. I still have the original tires on the car, and holding the Mustang to be a classic; without a corroded hood! I contacted Ford motor company and told them my story. They (customer services) told me they had no complaints and no knowledge of this issue and could not help me, since my Mustang was way under the miles limit, but over the years. I asked for corporate and was denied the contact information. I did some research and later found out that Ford motor company out and out bold faced lied. They at that time were being sued, "March 15, 2013 nytimes - judge allows suit over aluminum corrosion in Fords to move forward. " google, "Ford Mustang hood bubble or corrosion" you pull up many complaints. Google, "lawsuit against Ford Mustang hood", you pull up many complaints. . Read more...
When someone finally dies from this incident which has been reported numerous times by consumers both on this site and with TSB's from Ford issued as early as 2007 then someone will take notice just like what just happened at gm. Please do something before someone dies. There are multiple electrical failures due to a serious water leak affecting the entire car. My 2006 Ford Mustang has been at the dealership since Feb. 8 2014 and we just picked it up for this issue which was supposedly fixed once before. Now with another fee of $1,200. 00 paid we picked up our car after 2 months and upon driving the car home the ac is not working and the sensor lights are on for the door!!! what does it take for someone to realize there is a major problem here? this comes after an extensive water leak that caused serious mold damage inside the car along with electrical issues, one of which a new battery was needed. This was first "repaired" in 5/2013 but was not repaired because in 12/2013 there was a massive interior flood which lead to a massive interior mold problem and the car also would not start and was towed to two separate dealerships. No one wants to assume responsibility and there is a huge amount of data out there supporting the fact that Ford has known about this issue as early as 2007. The manager at the Ford dealership told us that although he would assume no responsibility for the car because Ford has not issued a recall he would not let his wife or children drive in that car!!.
Water first noticed leaking inside the vehicle on 5/2013 and was -TSB performed on seals at cowel panel. Car leak was not fixed and started leaking again at same sight, this time with extensive mold spore damage which can be a significant health risk. This car has had multiple(at least 5 times)check engine light coming on,several times the car has just stalled while driving and so far 2 batteries and 2 alternators have been put in to this car and it makes you wonder if water has been leaking since purchase into the electrical system of this car. This has been a known problem at Ford since 2007 but a recall was never issued. I am not sure what it takes to issue a recall but I would hate it to be a respiratory illness or a crash that would bring it to this.
2006 Ford Mustang-car brought into dealership on 5/2013 with c/o water leaking on passenger floor board. This was supposedly fixed. Check car engine light was on for the fifth time and this time they replaced the alternator for the second time. Car now(2/14) would not start and the interior of the car is full of mold spores! I have read the forums on line and it is well documented that Ford has known about this leak since 2007 and never recalled this because it was not a "safety" issue however I think it is a huge safety issue when there is water leaking on the inside of the car, the windshield on the inside looks like it is raining and the car has had multiple electrical issues several of which the car has stopped working while driving on the interstate. Now on top of this we have a major health issue and the dealer does not want to take responsibility for this.
Driving home form a trip I started hearing a slapping/ticking noise form under the hood. Investigated the problen and seems to be coming form timing chain cover/ valve cover area on passenger side. After doigng research on this matter and a mechanic visit it is a timing chain guide/tensioner. Its a costly repair and seems to be a common problem on 05-09 Mustangs form internet research. They use the timing chain cause they should last the life of the car, cause they wont break. I think the guides should also last, but they are made of plastic and can break at anytime. I think this is a ploy by Ford or a defect that needs to be addressed as plastic contained inside of a major car part that can break easily, may cause chain to slip off and shut off engine causing blown engine, or worse while on highway casuing an accident. They should be replaced by stainless or aluminum for strength and better support.

My Mustang is leking water into the front passenger seat under the glove box. Not drips but buckets after a rain. There is also an adfiriomal leak into the trunk and back seat. Had seals and drains checked no problem. After researching online there seems to be alot of people with this problem. I am unsure how long this has been going on. As I bearly drive this car.
Around one month after I bought the car intermittently the I would encounter surges when starting to go at lights or parking the car, coming to a stop. . . Now the car is stalling same as the surges. . . I have replaced many parts trying to resolve the issue. Now it has become a serous hazard to drive and costly!.
Ford Mustang in 2006 noticed days later heat coming up from the floor of the car. It was extreme & I took to dealer several times in the first 3 months, but Ford didn't think anything was wrong. I don't take the car out on long trips as the car heats up too much in the interior and the floor by my feet gets too hot for comfort. I have about 25k miles on the car as I will only take it on short local routes. Two years ago the fuel tank stopped working right. I believe it is the vapor lock system. I had an electrical problem with the vehicle within 1 month of owning the car. I replaced about 4 batteries within 6 months & contacted the dealer at least 6 times. They thought to replace the stereo, but even after that was replaced I still had the issue. I was stranded several times by a dead battery. The dealer & corp said there was not an issue - that I just wasn't driving the car enough & suggested I get a charger. After a new battery, I'd driver the car every day, but within a week our two, I'd have a dead battery again. I asked corp how many miles must I be required to drive in order for my car to work & the representative said she didn't know, but she knew it had to be more than what I was driving. After about 5 years, I found a fuse "fix" for this issue (thanks to a aaa service person who was replacing another battery) & now I am able to drive my car, but I still don't trust I won't be stranded again. I still can't take it more than 20 miles without the heat issue being a problem and filling the tank is an issue due to what I think is a vapor lock problem likely caused by the heat issue. I sought help from my Ford dealer & corp, but I haven't had any of these issues taken seriously. Today, after hearing about the recall on the heat issue, I called up dealer & corp & they both said there was nothing to be done as my vehicle is not part of the recall.
Water leaking under dash on passenger side of my Ford Mustang gt 2006 model. It has progressivly over time gotten worse. There should be a recall.
