Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2007 Ford Mustang

The passenger side airbag deployed while I was driving the vehicle. The vehicle was not involved in an accident nor did it contact any object, vehicle or otherwise. I was simply driving the vehicle at the posted speed, under dry conditions, on a straight asphalt 2 lane public road when the passenger airbag deployed. I contacted my local Ford dealer and explained what happened. The Ford dealer instructed me to bring the vehicle to the dealer where they would service it by replacing the airbag and defective inflator, whereby the inflator is under a recall. After dropping off my vehicle I was contacted by the dealer to tell me Ford motor company would not repair or replace the airbag module; and it was my (the consumer) responsibility to replace the airbag module.

Takata recall 17s01. Passenger front airbag inflator could rupture if this vehicle is involved in a crash. Waiting for months for a remedy. Dealer admitted, levittown Ford in NY, that only southern states are getting the parts for this repair as of now, and that I will be notified. Ford states that it is safe to drive yet there is contradictory and inconsistent statements and evidence that supports a danger to the front passenger side. If the parts are available in southern states, there is no evidence that supports that northern states are less at risk of injury from a rupturing defective airbag. I am furious that I cannot put a front passenger in the car, with good conscience, that there could be a serious injury caused by this defect. Please look into the misleading recall status, "recall incomplete, remedy not yet available. " catching Ford in a lie will not lead to a good outcome for them should my car not get fixed soon.

Takata recall,received a recall letter from Ford motor company July 2016 saying there is a recall on airbag inflator passenger side 16s26. I have called the dealership several times asking if the part has come in and their answer is the same each time "no part". This has been way over a year since I received notice, as today date is 10/24/2017. I have not driven this car since I have received this notice, afraid something may happen causing an accident or more. I have also tried calling Ford motor company and received the same answer ,"no part". Does something have to happen before you take the owner complaint? 24.

Takata recall: after multiple attempts to schedule an appointment for both driver and passenger airbag inflator recalls to be completed over the past 2 years - they still remain unfixed. The last attempt finally secured an appointment (Saturday, July 8, 2017 - 4:00 pm). Upon arrival, I was informed that I needed to leave the vehicle for 5-7 days as no parts were available. When I asked if they had a rental/loaner program as I cannot be without transportation for that long, I was informed that they only have 40 loaners and they were all out. Then I was informed that they do not have a rental program. When I explained that this is my only form of transportation and I have been trying to have this completed for almost 2 years, I was advised I could either leave the vehicle or contact another dealer. Even after I explained that I fear for both my family's he repeated himself stating I could contact another dealer and was sent away. As we all know, this recall has not only caused seriously injuried, it has taken lives. I am asking for nyour assistance in getting these recalls completed. I value both mine and my family's lives. I know many Honda owners who have had their recalls completed without hesitation and/or issues with the company. Koodos to Honda, wish that I and my family as 3 generations loyal Ford owners would receive the same service.

Nhtsa recall 16v384 was issued a year ago for the passenger air bag inflator on my car. I phoned the Ford dealer today 6/26/2017 and was told that parts are still not available for the repair. If Ford can obtain millions of air bags for the new cars they have designed, manufactured, and sold since this recall was issued, it is unacceptable and inexcusable that they cannot obtain parts for this recall repair in a timely manner.

Within a month of owning the vehicle, the drivers side air bag inflator was replaced for a manufacturer air bag recall. In addition, the contact had waited for months but the front passenger side air bag inflator was not available for NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) so the contact was uncertain as to when the vehicle may be repaired. The dealer (theodore robins Ford, 2060 harbor blvd, costa mesa, CA 92628, (800) 494-0756) had been contacted for months and had no specific time frame from the manufacturer to receive the part which was unacceptable for the contact. The manufacturer was contacted to determine when the remedy and part may be supplied to the dealer. VIN tool confirms parts not available. Dyd.

Takata recall: safety recall 15s21 is for the driver airbag inflator replacement. Safety recall 16s26 is for the passenger airbag inflator replacement. Now, there is yet another - safety recall 16v384. While Ford has replaced the driver airbag inflator replacement, they have not replaced the passenger airbag inflator. This recall is over a year old - and Ford cannot give any update as to when (or if) the passenger airbag inflator will ever be replaced!.

Takata inflators the existing recall on the passenger airbag of July 2016 indicates that it is not safe for a person to ride in the front passenger seat. I just received a notice that it is hoped that there will be a fix for this defect in 2018. Because the back seats of this model of Mustang have limited space for legs, my vehicle is now limited to accommodating the driver only. This car was not purchased as a commuter vehicle and it appears that I will be looking at about two years where I can't use it. This seems like and extremely long fine to address this problem. Is there any other options for getting this fixed or replaced?.

Now, because of the time that has passed, they are even more likely to rupture if the driver's airbag deploys in a crash. In fact, in testing done by takata, alpha inflators removed from vehicles in consistently hot and humid areas showed a rupture rate as high as 50 percent. " can I expect the same, higher percentage of kill rate, in the inflators in my 2007 Mustang and 2008 fusion as they age, as found by Honda? I will pay to have the airbags/inflators replaced - request your office provide the correct part numbers and recommended place to have the work correctly accomplished. Ford country in henderson nv . We received a recall for takada inflator. We called abd,was told by Ford country both driver and passenger air bags were in brought car in only had driver bag. Made another appt with Ford country for passenger airbag, was told they don't have passenger airbag and don't know when it will be in. Also, the driver airbag also needs to be replaced again due to another recall. We are afraid to drive our car and want to know why us Ford not doing something. . We have a grenade ready to go off anytime. Why doesn't Ford disassemble the airbags for niw.

I have been told multiple times parts are not yet available. I understand this is a very large recall, but 2 years is unreasonable and I need this repaired as soon as possible.

We received a safety recall notice 15s21/NHTSA recall 15v-319 in July 2015. The issue was the front driver side air bag inflator housing. Takata recall was not mentioned in the recall. We have not received any more information on this recall and we are quite concerned.

I live in tucson. I just called holmes tuttle Ford. They said that Ford never shipped them parts for the 15. . . Airbag recall on my Mustang. The notice was filed in may. Can you put pressure on Ford to get the parts out so the cars can be fixed? I tried to trade in my car and they wouldn't take it due to an open recall.
