The clutch pedal assembly broke at one of the welds while driving straight on a city street. The pedal lost total function and fell to the floor and I couldn't shift gears. While still in motion, I attempted to pull the pedal up using the top of my foot. The pedal then reverted all the way up under the dash and could not be reached at all. I was able to pull over and park the car into the nearest lot.

Corrective action requested alert to be issued advising drivers of potential hazard investigation to confirm this clutch failure mode is a systemic problem with Ford Mustangs having manual transmission recall if investigation verifies systemic problem.
The clutch pedal assembly pin broke off and had to be tig welded by a mechanic. He indicated that the original weld was faulty. We were lucky that we were able to push the vehicle off the road safely in the midst of a very busy street.
The contact owns a 2008 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that the vehicle was placed in reverse and the clutch pin fractured.
