Side/window Air Bag problems of the 2009 Ford Mustang

Takata recall. Ford has yet to fix my passenger side airbag. They predict they "might have" replacement parts in the spring of 2018 but the letter received only states select vehicles. Their remedy is to not have anyone sit in the passenger seat. It is a Ford Mustang. The backseat is not big at all and is only comfortable if you have a double amputee back their. How is my wife who is claustrophobic supposed to ride with me? this is not acceptable. This will also effect if I ever want to trade it in or resell my vehicle as it is a potential death trap for a passenger. Ford has taken a 4 passenger car that is really only for 2 people comfortable and made it a one seater.

Takata recall. Manufacturer recall 16s26. Two dealers where I have inquired state that passenger side air bag parts are not available and may not be manufactured at all because takata will be going out of business.

The driver's side airbag has been replaced but not the passenger side and every time I contact the dealership about this issue, I am told that the airbags are not available yet and they have no idea when they will be available.

I had the drivers side air bag replaced on my Mustang by a dealership, but I have not been able to get the passenger side airbag replaced. All of the dealers in my area keep telling me the part is not in stock for the passenger side airbag. Now they say they will call me, but I have not received a call back from any of the dealerships. The car is being driven on city streets and highways. I don't have a current picture of the Mustang but it is in very good shape.

Greenway Ford replaced my driver airbag in a timely manner, however I have contacted greenway Ford in orlando, FL several times to schedule the replacement of my passenger and side airbags. As of the last inquiry on sept 16, 2017 hey are saying they don't have the parts. Now I see that takata is filing bankruptcy and will deny liability. I am concerned about not having these airbags replaced. Are there any other options?.

Takata recall- I have a 2009 Ford Mustang roush 429r that is being affected by the takata recall on both airbags. I have received a note that the driver side airbag will be fixed, but was told the passenger is not ready. I have been trying to sale my car for a year, due to husband being laid off and financial hardship. I am unable to sale my car due to this recall and when I discussed with Ford, the dealership told me that my car will never have the recall fixed, that its an impossible fix. They told me that my car is worthless and if they bought it, they could pay me for my roush parts and then total out the car. What right as an owner do I have, that I have paid for a $40 thousand dollar car, I only have 8600 miles on it, and besides the recall estimated value is around $35,000 to $40,000 due to it being #78 of 100 made, but am being told sorry because of this recall your car is worthless and there is nothing that can be done. What right as an owner do I have? if my car is not safe enough to sale, how is it safe enough to drive? how does a 1 income family have a car just sit in the drive way costing money, not able to drive due to safety, and cant sale related to recall. This has become such a huge financial burden, causing increase stress related to not being able to pay other bills. I have already contacted the dealership and management there and all I get is, "we are so sorry, but we cant help you".

Takata recall Ford not getting the passenger side air bag recall done is not acceptable. It is approaching 2 years and they still have not gotten the parts to repair my car. This will be the last Ford product I will buy if this is not handled shortly. Please do some pushing and shoving somewhere. Thanks ken.

Ford still has not completed the repairs for passenger side airbag. I do not feel comfortable having a front seat passenger. Why has this not been done? can I consider it safe to have a front seat passenger. This has been much too long being corrected.

Computer system check indicated srs light on code 22. This code is for a faulty side airbag module/harness. The side air bag is built into the driver seat. There was a service bulletin TSB 09-8-7 regarding the wire harness that is stretching the wire to the air bag module. This safety issue should be added to the recall list. . Read more...

When are you going to make Ford issue a recall on a known defect of side air bags on 2009 Mustangs? TSB# 10-23-8 shows that Ford knows it has a problem with this code 22 on it's driver side airbags.

I was invalid in an accident and my front and/or side airbags didn't deploy. I was struck in the drivers side front end and the drivers side front fender by a 1995 Ford tempo that was traveling approximately 45 mph. I was traveling at 10mph when the impact was made. The estimate to repair my car is $8000 and they haven't even taken it apart yet, that is just from a visual inspection of the outside. I drive a 2009 Ford Mustang gt premium edition. I am concerned about this issue. I have read internet sites and saw pictures of the same year and model of vehicle the air bags didn't deploy either.

I was involved in an accident on Feb 2, 2010. My driver's side airbag did not deploy properly because mullinax Ford CO. Here in fla. Put seatcovers over cloth seats. So actually the airbag had to deploy out of two seats. I had paid $950. 00 for leather seats not seatcovers. The Ford dealership that repaired my car will not put the seatcover back on so now I have seatcovers on all the seats except for the driver's side.

Still waiting for the part to be available for the passenger side air bag. It's been probably a year since we were notified of the defect for passenger side bag. To date, part not ready. Had the driver side bag replaced in June 2016. Do we have to sue to get the replacement installed?.
