36 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

Ford refusing to accept recall for car; car has issue with transmission lead frame. The car will be driving and will "hard shift" randomly. The speedometer goes crazy and I have to slow down or turn off the car for it to go away. Recall exists for my models transmission lead frame ( I believe I meet all the requirements ) issued in April 2016, but it is not appearing for the VIN of the vehicle. If I do not meet the requirements it should be extended for my car.

39 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/11/2016

My car has gone into 'limp' mode several times over the past couple of days. I took it to the dealer who advised me that the issue is the electronic throttle body, and it's not covered under the powertrain warranty. This part has been recalled for several other Ford model vehicles - but not the Mustang and they won't cover it. It'll cost me $570 to get the part replaced in my vehicle. This occurs while driving - at all different speeds - including going 65+ miles per hour on the highway.

40 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/06/2016

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. While driving 70 mph in the left lane, the vehicle shifted into first gear and seized the rear tires while on an incline. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.

43 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/03/2016

While driving car suddenly loses power and shows wrench light and goes into limp mode. Trouble codes shown p2111 and p2112. This can happen any time during driving and has happened in heavy traffic potentially dangerous consequences.

44 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/29/2016

I was driving down the street and when I shifted from 1st to 2nd the gear shifter got hung up and would not shift causing the car to downshift throwing me foward and hitting my head on the steering wheel.

45 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2016

During initial acceleration after a left turn, shifting from 1st into 2nd gear, the vehicle shook wildly and violently rocked side to side and lost power. This was the second identical occurrence on city streets while accelerating out of left turns. On both occasions, had to make immediate moves to the right lane before power was restored. Based on other reporting and research, it appears to be an issue of throttle body failure. The vehicle has 18,500 miles and has a mt-82 transmission.

46 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2016

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. While the gear shifter was shifted into the neutral position, the front driver seat was lifted and collided with the parking brake. As a result, the parking brake was disengaged, the vehicle rolled away in the forward direction, and crashed into a fence. There were no injuries and a police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 86,000.

47 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/18/2016

My vehicle constantly goes into limp home mode while driving. Turns off all cylinders except 1 which let's you drive about 5mph. Also while my vehicle is at idle it begins to loose proper idle rpm and nearly stalls until revs back to a higher rpm. After some research I found that the issue is thought to be the throttle body and throttle body sensor. Currently mymy vehicle is at the dealership going through some vehicle diagnostics to figure out the exact problem. They told me it is not covered under the vehicle warranty and I am being charged $145. 00 for the initial inspection and then charged by the hour to fix the problem, I not including parts. My vehicle only has 59,000 miles on it and it's already failing. It appears that numerous people are have this issue and Ford has yet to recall affected vehicles.

48 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/14/2016

I have a 2012 Mustang gt with 6 speed manual transmission. I bought the car as a certified pre-owned car at about 2,500 miles. The car at that point had a dealer re-built transmission and my understanding is that it has 2nd through 6th gear replaced due to a manufacturers defect. Since that time I've had multiple transmission issues and the car now has about 49,000 miles. In early January, it became almost impossible to shift the car into 1st gear. It was very stiff and took a lot of force to get it into 1st. Shifting to 2nd gear resulted in a gear-mashing sound. 3rd gear sounded like a loud clunk. 4th through 6th gears were fine. These incidents became worse and almost caused me to have 2 different accidents by not being able to shift gears in traffic. I took the car to a Ford dealership in the north atlanta, GA area and they looked at the car. Their transmission tech believed it was an issue with the synchronizers. The tech did not believe he had the expertise to work on this issue and referred me to another Ford dealership. On 1/14/16 I took the car to the 2nd dealership and their tech agreed it was the synchronizers. That dealership took about 1 week to complete the repairs. After the repairs, the issue was not solved; loud sounds were coming out of the rear of the car. Over the past 2 weeks, they've ordered numerous replacement parts. As of today, 2/9/16, there are parts that are not available and are on national back order. The eta for the parts is now 2/24/16. I've read about similar issues other Mustang owners with this specific 6 speed transmission have had and personally can say it is a major safety warning for the driver. These cars should be recalled and new transmissions inserted as a whole unit vs. Installing multiple parts. I also believe that this issue will cause me to experience diminished value at resale.

49 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 10/26/2015

My car has approximately 31000 miles on it. I"m the second owner of this vehicle. 18 days ago antifreeze was on my garage floor. My mechanic come over and explained to me that my water pump had gone bad. So I took my car to the dealership and they told me that it was still was under power train warranty. They diagnosed my car and verified that it was indeed the water pump and that there was another person that was waiting ahead of me for the same thing 30 days. I called other dealerships and they too were out of water pumps. My concern is that I will have to keep buying anti freeze every other day and I cannot afford this. This dealer ship told me that they did not have a loaner vehicle for me. Please help. Thank you.

50 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2015

Tl-the contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle lost power. In addition, the gear shifter was difficult to shift into various positions. The failure recurred on numerous occasions. The vehicle was taken to multiple dealers who were unable to diagnose or repair the vehicle. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 50,000. Oo.

51 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/09/2015

Was driving around 50mph on city streets when all of a sudden car lost power and went limp. Wrench light came on and car was making a weird noise under the hood like it was struggling. Couldn't accelerate and I had to coast to the right hand side of the road. Turned the car off and then back on and everything was okay. This has happened 3 times since within a 8 month time period driving at various speeds. Each time I turn the car on & off again and it seems to reset. I've noticed my car hasn't been getting the same city mpg as before. Ive only had this car 2 years, I'm the second owner and this started at roughly 62,000 miles.

52 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/27/2015

After waiting at a light in the left turn lane, I started accelerating from a complete stop, slowly into my left turn. At almost completion of the turn, my tachometer went from 3000 rpms to over 6000 rpms. The car had a sudden jolt at this moment and the rear wheels locked up. I went into a slide and the car slid across 2 lanes into a tree filled median. The car was totaled by the insurance company. There were no factors that could influence such a crash, as the road was dry, it hadn't rained. The road was well paved. Finally, speed wasn't a factor in the crash. At the time of the accident we had no idea what could have caused the downshifts in gears, however after a recent recall we realized what had happened.

53 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 11/07/2014

As I was trying to put my car into 3rd gear it wouldn't go into gear. So I have to slow down in order to put it in 2nd gear. Another time I had to go into 4th. This is very concerning to me.

54 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/29/2014

Today while trying to accelerate at a intersection and shift from 1st to 2nd gear the transmission wouldn't let me into 2nd. Now if this just happened once I would let it go but this has happened several times. This is a big safety issue considering it causes my car to slow while I'm trying to get into gear with traffic coming at me. This needs to be resolved before someone dies. I'm not the only person who has complained about this issue.

55 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/21/2014

2012 Ford Mustang throws check engine light and wrench going into "limp mode" (car cuts all acceleration, and just idles). I had to pull to the side of the road, and shut vehicle off. Vehicle returned to normal after one or two turn ons. This will occur every other day, and multiple times in a day. Very dangerous if it was to happen while merging in traffic. This is not covered under Ford powertrain or emissions warranty, they claim that it is an "attachment" to the engine, not a part of it. This issue has caused them to extend their warranties on the Ford escape and fusion, but not their other vehicles affected by this issue. They have quoted me $700 dollars to completely replace the throttlebody. This is a very dangerous issue, that is linked to more than just the Ford escape and fusion, and Ford has not given their other vehicles owner's the same warranty.

56 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/27/2014

The clutch will not release at high rpms. The speedometer reads incorrectly. The drivers seat is loose.

57 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2013

The contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph the rpms increased and the vehicle failed to accelerate into fifth gear without warning. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who stated there was no failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure and current mileage was 33,300.

58 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/25/2013

My daughter's 2012 Mustang would loose power at around 40 mph when accelerating. The engine light would light up and the car would idle very rough when car was stopped. Problem was diagnosed as a throttle being stuck open and the throttle housing was replaced which solved the problem.

59 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 05/01/2013

Gear grind in 5th, this transmission is inconsistant. Inconsistant engagement into 5th.

60 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 04/05/2013

Vehicle has continual issues going into 1st and 2nd gear. Manual transmission. After 11 months of this issue the clutch burned out, I was in the middle of the intersection. I am not stuck with a repair bill because Ford or the dealership will do anything.

61 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2013

I had two incidents of unintended acceleration in my 2012 Ford Mustang gt automatic transmission premium pkg. These two incidents occurred on the same day March 5, 2013. The first was after I picked up my car from its garage of several weeks at lunch and drove back to work. I had gone about two blocks from my garage and was braking to slow down to make a right hand turn when the car down shifted and accelerated by itself while I was pressing the brake pedal. I was going about 5 mph when this all started. It lasted for about 3 seconds and then the car released and stopped the acceleration and I was able to slow down and make my right hand turn. I continued on back to work and complained to my CO-worker about what had happened and how I was beginning to become afraid of the Mustang. He is my witness about this happening before the second incidence occurred. Later on I left work to go home and on the way home it happened again a second time only this time much stronger. I was in bumper to bumper traffic going under interstate hwy 820 bridge in fort worth to go under the bridge after going through a traffic light on each side to make a left hand turn to get on the west bound ih820. Well because of the traffic you have to stop at one light on the south side of the bridge and then again stop to get through the second light on the north side of the bridge to turn left. Anyway there was a large semi-truck hauling rocks in front of me and I stayed back about 60 feet so as not to get the rocks on new car. He went down to the other light which was red and stopped I was going about 5 mph again and started to brake way back from him because of the rocks and the red light. The car again accelerated on its own while I was pressing the brake pedal. I fought it the whole way but it would not let release till 15 feet from truck. I then crashed. I could have been killed!.

62 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/29/2013

Tl- the contact owns a 2012 Ford Mustang. The contact stated that while driving approximately 55 mph the vehicle revved up and would not accelerate into fifth gear. The failure occurred intermittently at different speeds. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 29,000. Da.

63 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/24/2013

Shifting into 1st, 2nd and 3rd gears has become more difficult over the past few months. Sometimes it grinds, and sometimes it won't even go into gear. I have been driving manual transmission cars for 15 years, and something is really wrong with this transmission that needs to be fixed. I had the vehicle at the dealer 3/4/2013, and all they did was change the transmission fluid and said it was resolved. Drove it home and the problem was not resolved, as it is still difficult to shift gears. Ford needs to come up with a fix immediately and fix our Mustangs.

64 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 01/17/2013

Transmissions 3rd gear synchronization plate failed. The car is locked out of that gear.

65 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 12/19/2012

The proplem with the vehicle started when I tried to start it. When I turned the key the vehicle took a few seconds longer than usual to start up. As I began driving down the highway my vehicle wouldnt shift gears out of 40mph and caused the engine to have high rpm. When I turned off the engine at a gas station and tried to start it back up. Vehicle would not start and I had to get it jumped. Vehicle still doesnt shift gears. This vehicle is only 1 year and 1 month old since I purchased it.

66 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/11/2012

Car would not shift from 3rd gear to 4th gear clutch acted as if it was stuck in traffic close call on accident.

67 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2012

Clutch would not allow me to shift the car between 3rd and 4th gear I traffic. This is not a new situation the car has done this on and off since I bought it new I notice it after driving a long time or in fast moving city traffic.

68 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2012

I was completing a left turn when power was no long going to the back wheels while releasing the clutch. It happened again when I arrived home while pulling in to the driveway but this time I smelled the clutch overheating. I lost confidence that the vehicle will provide the necessary acceleration that is need while crossing traffic at an intersection.

69 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 07/05/2012

Driving the vehicle in any gear, when gas pedal to the floor, the car will fall on it's face when reaching 3000 rpm's and up at all speeds. It misses and the ti-vct isn't engaging correctly. Oil level is full, and the spark plugs look great. The vehicle will not even throw an mil light. The vehicle drives fine at low rpm's, but once you down shift to go faster it feels like it misfires and the engagement of the ti-vct is coming in and out.

70 Power Train problem

Failure Date: 06/17/2012

Fyi I can not include the top/roof due to it wont allow me to input the check mark) I baught this Mustang in June 2012,used from Ford here in sioux falls sd, since that time I have asked about the top about the clunking and if they would notify me if any recalls. They only sent one for the passenger air bag , until this week when I received a second notice for the takata air bags from the day I took her off the lot. I wanted to know why my front end suspension is making a clunking sound in front and it's been there since the first day, I even had her looked at to make sure she wasn't damaged, within minutes they came back and said she's fine no problems and why my transmission does not want to shift to higher gears from 1st thru overdrive, she bogs down like there isnt any fuel getting to her engine and she doesn't shift through the gears properly, if I had recieved the recalls it would of been in immediately. My top leaks water when washed so it can cause damage on the inside especially the door electrical systems, yet Ford refused to have the top redone since they feel it's just normal wear yet its happened since the first time I had to wash her. I'm starting to think think Ford has taken advantage of me in this case as I still can not get any updated information on my car and if I can either get the work done or the vehicle replaced, mind you I still owe on her and to be honest I do not want a trade in , I'd rather Ford fix these issues and write off the remaining debt due to negligence for not advising me of these recalls in a timely manner and for bit fixing the issues when the recalls came out . It's quite frustrating to know I've paid over 20000 for a car that they are willfully neglecting to fix and yet I'm to be liable for the debt no matter the possiblity that they are negligent and dismissive of my claims.
