The steering gear including contour module went out. I was backing out and couldn’t turn my wheel my sisters boyfriend had to drive it home on a curvy road with no power steering. I have a local mechanic looking at it but they said the part is on back order which means this must happen a lot. They finally got the part and now are saying it won’t program so are needing to order another part. When I turned the car on to leave my destination it said service powersteering system and abs, but before that there were no warnings. I unplugged the battery for 30 minutes to rest the car and everything worked fine for another 1, then driving down the road it went out again.
My vehicle is often showing a "service advancetrac" warning, another warning that the hill start assist is disabled, and simultaneously the antilock brake warning light and the seatbelt warning light on the dashboard will light up. When this happens, the traction control shuts down and steering becomes more difficult. It seems to be a sensor malfunction or a problem with the powertrain control module, which would be consistent with NHTSA campaign no. 22v382, which was issued for newer model Mustangs.
The contact owns a 2015 Ford Mustang. The contact stated while driving approximately 55 mph, the steering wheel locked up. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact depressed the brake pedal and stopped the vehicle. The contact was unable to veer to the side of the road. The vehicle was towed to the contact's residence. The vehicle was then towed to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that the electronic steering gear assembly needed to be replaced. The dealer and the manufacturer were notified of the failure and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in a recall associated to the failure. The dealer advised the contact to take the vehicle to them so it could be repaired at her own expense. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 65,000.
I was driving normally on the road, when suddenly my steering wheel locked. My steering assist was off, so I forcefully pulled over to the side of the road. Hill assist, service asdvancetrac and steering assist codes went off. Lights for advancetrac and hill assist are still illuminated on the dash until today. It's been a week.
Location of electric power steering is the worse possible place. Failures are common due to water damage causing power steering to stop working at any moment. Even when car is moving which could cause accidents or death.
Electric power streering wheel failure under cold weather condition.

I driving home on my street and the electric power steering lock up and pull the vehicle into hard right make almost cause me to hit car. I made appointments with Ford for the 9/18/2018 spoken with service and parts there but said do know about any recall yet. This is just very dangerous can cause a accident or injuries to other drivers on the road.
Bought a 2015 Mustang gt Feb 28 at 9pm with 19200 miles on it. March 1 I noticed the car had 3 different tires brands on it. The car pulls bad to the left under acceleration, when you let off the gas it pulls right. Laurel Ford did a 4 wheel alignment on the car and it still pulls. Now they say it is the struts and the orded 2 new ones for the frount. I think it is the tires not the struts but they won't replace the tires because they would haft to pay for them. They only want to replace parts that warranty will pay for. They said no way they would pay for 4 new tires. This is a safety issue ⚠️ very dangerous driving the car because it is a manuel transmisaion and every time you accelerate the car pulls left holding the wheel straight does not stop it, it still pulls left, then right when you take your foot off the gas. What Ford dealer would sell a car with 19,200 miles on it with 3 mis mached tires on it. Also the tires have different load and speed rateings on each one, like 101y, and 105y, and 100 y. I dont know wats wrong, I think laurel Ford is stalling, why???? I have had the car for 15 days now still not fixed. I guess some one will look into this after some bodys gets killed like me and what ever car I hit head on at 70 mph.
2015 Mustang 2. 3 l ecoboost, when at ideal for more then 5 - 10 min. It starts smoking white smoke from the tail pipes, the longer it sits the heavier the smoke gets. Steering : sometimes when turning left the steering wheel doesn't return to center, I have to pull the steering wheel, as if it is stuck. Transmission feels like it shifts hard sometimes and sometimes it does not. Passenger airbag : when someone is riding with me the airbag turns off. Driver side seat: has cooled seats. Doesn't work all the time, states it is on, but not feeling anything cool. Contacted Ford and they will not do much about it. Except tell me to bring it to the shop.
At about 2000 miles I noticed the steering tending to pull to the left preventing the car from going straight down the road. It appears to happen on any road surface and was intermittent. The dealership suggested the Mustangs steering is very sensitive and was responding to road conditions. They deflated the tires as well as conducting a diagnostic. As time passed the condition worsened and developed to the right as well as the left. In addition the car developed a clunk noise when the wheels were turned hard left or right, also intermittent. My dealer checked it out, saw the pulling to the right as the technician road with me, and completed an alignment. They were unable to reproduce the issue but I experienced it as I drove it off the lot following their "repair. " it continues to happen and requires consistent attention to ensure that when the steering goes awry it can be corrected. The last repair was 12/2 and 12/3 and the car continues to manifest the same problem. The dealership insists that there is nothing wrong with the vehicle that they can determine. I intend to call the Ford company.
My car since 2015 when I purchase my vehicle had a ticking sound from the engine. Ford never open the engine indicating that it will cost to much for them to fix it. On top of this problem has worsen and airbegs, stability and other problems has arise now and Ford refuses to fix them.
