While driving on the highway, the doors will pop open. This has happened a number of times randomly. Seems the drivers door pops open then a short time later the passenger door pops open. The times it has happened have been a couple hours into a trip at highway speed on relatively flat surfaces.
The driver side door unlatches and the alarm that the door is open comes on while driving 70 miles per hour on the freeway. This has happened four times in a 3 day span while traveling on a road trip. I took the vehicle to the dealer and they were unable to determine the problem and fix the issue.
I have a 2016 Mustang convertible eco-boost which is just recently started having a problem with my passenger door opening while going down the highway. The first instance happened a couple of weeks ago and the last one happened last week on July 22, 2020. The sensor system in my car did alert us that the door was open. I have read on the news that the Mustangs are being recalled for this problem but when I checked my VIN I see no recalls on my vehicle. Can you please tell me how I can get theirs repaired under a recall since it is happening to my vehicle. Please contact me if you have any questions. In the first instance we were coming to an intersection and was slowing down for the stop light. The second instance we were going down the interstate at 65 mph. We had to go into the breakdown lane to shut the door. In the first instance we had the top down and in the second instance we had the top up and the windows rolled up.
The evaporator core on my car has a leak and needs to be replaced, out of warranty and with only 4000 miles on it, for $1800. This is not an isolated incident; forums around the internet are filled with hundreds of pages of consumers with identical stories. Ford has issued a TSB acknowledging the problem (TSB #: tsb18-2166, NHTSA id #: 10143077), but has not issued a recall or buyback program, despite the fact that thousands of cars are leaking r134, a toxic chemical and environmental safety hazard, into the air. This is especially true if consumers don't have the spare nearly $2000 to spend on replacing the core, meaning the old one will continue to leak indefinitely.
Ac has stopped working. . . Again! car has been repaired twice under warranty. Now out of warranty because of age. Car has 23k miles 2 times full refrigerant charge has vented to atmosphere, a violation of federal law! thousands, if not tens of thousand Mustangs are affected.
Transmission issues, evap sensor, low fuel pressure sensor.
Travelling on the interstate at approximately 70 mph, twice in a 12 hour driving period my driver's door unlatched and I got a drivers door ajar warning on the dash and could see daylight around the rim of the door. Found these reference numbers online 20v177000 Ford ref #20s15.
The ac in my 2016 Ford Mustang has stopped working and I have researched online to find that many 2016 Ford Mustang owners are having similar issues. My car is just out of warranty and only has 20,000 miles on it yet is having this major issue.
Unknown. I am awaiting to get a backup camera recall fixed on this car since 04/18/2023. I scheduled an appointment to get this recalled fixed for 05/30/2023. The Ford dealership called on 04/27/2023 and cancelled the appointment, stating the parts are not available and that I would be notified by Ford when the parts are available. As of 08/23/2023 I am still waiting to get my recall fixed before an incident does occur.
Engine cooling not working. Hoses probably defective. Fire risk.
The passenger window keeps going up and down without the switch being used. This happens while driving and even when the car is parked and off in my driveway.
A/c started to blow hot air. The auto repair stated its the evaporator need replace, its a costly job and very common.
I purchased my dream car from autonation of fremont/ Honda. I drove 90 minutes from my house purchase the shelby. Upon arrival, I met with omar(mo), supervisor in sales. Before signing documents, the purchase price of the car was advertised at 45,900. Mo indicated the price was advertised wrong and was at 47,500. Mo stated to make up the price difference, he was going to tint the windows and add paint protection. Last month I attempted to make a claim last month for the swirl marks and fading on bumpers and brembo breaks. Well, autonation indicated I did not have the paint protection warranty. I have attempted to contact mo, and ali, general sales manager of autonation, no response. There are other complaints, but this is what put it over the top. During signing of the contract, they up sold me 6000 dollars of varies warranties. By the time I came home to read the documents, I canceled all the warranties. It took autonation 2 months to fix the documents and autonation stated we could not remove windshield insurance. I still paid 700 just to get the documents in order. Not only that, mo stated my brembo brakes squeak because they are high performance, he didn't fix the squeak even when I brought the car back when it was tinted. By far, this is the worst car experience I ever had. I called autonation cooperate and they never returned my call. Thank you joe luzadas.
Just picked my car up from dealership, due to a battery issue that I previously posted about, and my driver side vents are blowing warm air. I googled this issue and just like the battery issue I reported, this is not an isolated incident with the 2016 Ford Mustang. I will now have to bring my car back to the dealership and hope that they can get around to diagnosing it in the next couple of days. I can't understand why there have not been recalls regarding these issues, when Ford is obviously selling defective products. My car has 30,400 miles tomorrow will make the 5th time it has been in the shop over the past year. Investigation into these cars are obviously warranted.
I was driving down the road and the air-conditioning in the car stoped working. The car only blows out hot air now. I'm not sure how many people have filed a complaint but this is a massive problem for the vehicle that a simple google search reveals. This problem is ramapnt and the car is 3 years old. Ford claims they have no responsibility for $50,000 dollar car having mechanical failures 3 years after it was built. The customer service rep told me to talk to the appropriate government agency if I didn't like it.
I am posting about the 2016 Ford Mustang. I wanted to add my complaint because I know it is an ongoing issue that Ford should have fixed for it's customers. It is a leak in the evaporator core where the air stops working (blowing warm air).
My car's a/c broke down while driving early July of this year. It took four visits to the dealership to identify that the evaporator core was the issue. Before this, the schrader valves, condenser and associated parts were replaced.
I was driving car under normal conditions when the check engine light came on. Broght vehicle to local autozone and was given a p144c code. I brought car to Ford dealership and was told evap purge valve was defective and had to be replced. Invoice also shows that pcm was updated to latest calibatrion.
On Friday, July 19, 2019, my son was driving on I-75 in florida, going from univ of tampa to fernandina beach. While driving on the highway (approx 70 mph), the driver's side door unlatched - this happened to him twice on the trip. He pulled over & had to close the door. He mentioned that this had happened to him once before a few weeks ago. There is a Ford recall for this problem for 2015 Mustangs but no recall for 2016.
Hello, I am reporting on stall of 2016 Ford Mustang eco boost, while we are on signal or trying to drive vehicle in ramp suddenly vehicle stops and while bring the stick to neutral and trying to start the vehicle doesn't start. This has encountered once at highway which caused a traffic jam for not able to start vehicle for 5-7 minutes, I have reported thrice in last 2 years to service and not received right response on condition, after 6 months recently I encountered the same issue in July 2019 which concerns 4th time. Need support respectively.
Evaporator core leak.
The ac quit blowing cold air, took it to Ford dealership left with an estimated repair cost $1800. 00. The evaporator core is leaking and must be replaced, so the dash has to be taken out. My car only has 30,539 miles.
Mustang's doors open while driving in motion, on a city street and highway. It seems to have faulty door latches.
First the ac was blowing hot air. I had it service last year. This year the car was blowing cold air on the passenger side. I had the blendor replaced. 3 months later the car again began to blow warm air I had it checked and now 30 days later the car makes a whining noise when the ac or defrost is turned on. The noise becomes louder as you accelerate. I searched the internet and there are a lot of these complaints concerning this model vehicle. There are also a lot of youtube videos describing the same issue some starting with in 9 months of purchase. I also purchased this car new and have maintained the required service. The vehicle is stationary and it continues when in motion.
Took my car to Ford dealership they said air-conditioner evaporator core is out they have received many complaints and might one day have a recall. . No ac on a two-year-old car with 40,000 miles. Very poor quality not worth the money.
This model has known issues with the a/c system. A defect in the evaporator core causes poor a/c performance, for which there is a posted TSB. I believe there is potentially a safety issue here which would warrant a recall. Since the refrigerant leaks into the cabin from the evaporator core, the windscreen forms a residue which obstructs driver visibility, especially when there is glare from the sun. Driver visibility is a factor in the probability of automotive accidents, therefore the commonly defective a/c system directly impacts the safety of this model. To maintain performance of the a/c system, it must be topped off. But visibility suffers and the windscreen must constantly be cleaned. Another safety issue is that refrigerant that is leaked is chronically inhaled by occupants of the vehicle. I'm not sure about the toxicity of r134a, but I can't imagine that it belongs in peoples lungs. If is it dangerous to do so, then I must reiterate, the commonly defective a/c system directly impacts the safety of this model. I sincerely hope that this issue gets more attention and a solution is proposed. Thank you and best regards.
The back up camera does not work and presents the following error message when putting the vehicle in reverse: rear view camera not available.
Driving on the dallas, TX highway 35- rlthornton headed sound in the peak of traffic in the fast lane (far left hand lane) going about 35miles and car stops. My feet was pressed on the acceleration but the car would not move. No engine warming or lights came on. The cars behind be began to swerve and brake to keep from hitting me. The abrupt engine shut off could have caused accidents or even worse fatalities. (my life) because the car was unmovable and failed to start, 911 had to be called for assistance with getting me out of arms way of other drivers and on the right side of the highway. I called the dealership, to inform them of the matter. Had the car towed at the expense of $120 dollars. 2 days have passed and my car hasn't been looked it. I was told that they might get to my car by Friday, 8/31 and that no rentals were available. My biggest concerned is the safety of my life and others. After researching around it appears that others have also experienced this problem. The Mustang is Fords biggest seller but consumers have the right to know of any issues such as this being reported. Why, because lives matter.
Engine oil cooler tube assemblies leak brought the car to the dealer twice problem not fixed, yesterday 4/12/17 brought the car again for the same problem, the service department is saying the coujld not finish the job today and wants to keep the car over the weekend for further repairs. We paid good money for this car, we want to use the car instead of having the car I n the repair shop!.
Driveshaft vibration gets worse when going over 45 miles even worse going 80.
Rear view camera, distorted or doesn't work at all at times. This has tried to be corrected 5 or 6 times at dealership, works for awhile, then happens again. Dealer does not give me a copy of what was done to attempt to fix problem. Now I see this same issue is for other Ford vehicles, just doesn't include the Mustang.
1) I have a 2016 Ford Mustang. Within first 5k miles the reverse camera did not operate intermittently. Was told by dealer that no fix was available in 2016. The car is driven summer months only. As years went on I had same defect. They didn’t have a loaner available or I would have to rent a car myself for them to service the said defect. I left it at dealer a few times afterwards then they said they could not duplicate defect. Now they are charging it against my extended warranty and wanted me to pay deductible. I argued with service manager and deductible was waived. Here we are 2021 and defect still remains. Vehicle currently had 23k miles. 2) also, had to buy new tires already. The pirelli p-zero tires had major sidewall cracking. 3) hood of vehicle has corrosion. Contacted Ford corporate with claim. Vehicle is out of warranty as of January 2021. They will make partial payment but not all.
When I have my front right window down about three inches and accelerate, I get car exhaust into cabin. I later found out that the exhaust moves from the exhaust pipe of the moving car into the car trunk and then into the cabin of my car. I first noticed this days after I purchased the car but the dealer could not duplicate it and said it was probably a new car smell. I had it checked again three months after purchase but, again, mechanic had same outcome. I finally got fed up with the smell and asked again 18 months after purchase. Ford spent weeks examining it and had a Ford technician also examine the car. Ford found the smell this time and said another Mustang like mine also had the same smell. Ford claimed the smell was normal for this type of Mustang. I had an expert test the car several hours one afternoon (see part of report attached). He found that carbon monoxide was much higher in the trunk than in the cabin. He found levels as high as 411 ppm in the trunk and 14 ppm in the cabin. He concluded that exhaust moved from exhaust pipe to car trunk to car cabin.
