The contact owns a 2014 Ford escape. The contact stated that while his wife was driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic and diagnosed with fuel pump failure. The contact was informed that the fuel pump needed to be replaced. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The contact related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 15v005000 (fuel system, gasoline) however, the VIN was not included in the recall. The failure mileage was approximately 50,000.
