Two problems related to underhood wiring have been reported for the 1996 Ford Ranger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
An underhood electrical fire started at or near the speed deactivation switch mounted on the brake master cylinder.
Vehicle caught fire after 1 hour drive, vehicle was 40% burned and declared a total loss. Fire originated in engine compartment on drivers side.
