One problem related to tank mounting has been reported for the 1998 Ford Ranger. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Plastic locking straps for fuel tank kept breaking. This occurred on two occasions, on 04-07-00 & 05-17-00, and caused fuel spillages. Dealer was notified and informed consumer that vehicle not covered under manfacturer's. Recalls, and it was out of warranty.
