My Ford Ranger supercab has electric door locks. For the past several months, the passenger door's lock has begun being intermittent about opening with the lock/unlock buttons on the two doors. Now it will neither open or close with the buttons most of the time. Recently, even the driver;s door lock has begun this symptom of not opening or closing. Must use the key to unlock the door. Very inconvenient. If there is a problem where someone needed to escape the vehicle quickly, such as a fire or other accident, you have to fumble to try an pull up on the lock button, sticking through the door liner.
