Problems with the size of the spare tire equipment on Ford Ranger. The spare and wheel are not the same size or same spec as the rest of the tires. The spare was not rated to carry the weight of a fully loaded truck. The truck has 4 wheel antilock brakes but the use of the spare tire and wheel rendered the antilock brakes inoperative.

2 Spare Tire problem

Failure Date: 06/20/2003

Consumer states vehicle's spare tire does not match the rest of the tires, the spare is a size 16 when the rest of the tires are 15. Dealer states all spares on that year an model are size 16.

3 Spare Tire problem

Failure Date: 05/28/2003

The spare was smaller than the original. The consumer was concern because the spare isn't a full size.

4 Spare Tire problem

The vehicle came equipped with 16 inch tires, however the vehicle spar tire is only 15 inches.
