I was in an accident and the airbags did not inflate. I was going 30-35 mph, there was a patch of ice, and I hit a tree. The truck was totaled. I smashed my face on the steering wheel, fracturing a bone. Some weeks later I received a letter in the mail from Ford motor company with regards to a passenger side airbag recall. I am afraid that this could perhaps be a bigger problem than just passenger side airbags.

I received a letter from Ford for safety recall notice 17s42/NHTSA recall 17v787 &17v788 for my 2005 Ford Ranger in early August 2018. I immediately called my local Ford dealer, matthews Ford in norwich, n. Y 13815, to schedule an appt. For repair. On 8/20 I received another letter from motor vehicle dept. Stating not to drive my vehicle until repaired, I called matthews Ford again on 8/23 to check on when parts would be in to make an appt. And I was told they do not know how long it would be. It has been over a month since I received my first notification and I have had to drive my vehicle. I don't know what else I can do except wait for the Ford dealer to get the parts necessary for repair. I asked the Ford service manager about a loaner vehicle and was told I would have to check with Ford and they would send me to a rental agency such as hertz. I have not contacted anyone else at this time, I hope you will be able to help me with this situation. Thank you, (xxxx). "takata recall" I scheduled an appointment with quirk Ford in hallowell maine to complete recall 17s42 on January 31, 2018. They did not have the parts available to fix this recall. They said to check back by end of February to see if parts were in. I called dealer on March 5, 2018 and they said they did not get any in and that they were not allowed to order them. "they only get so many a month from Ford" . The recall letter and info in the media says that "parts are now available to repair your vehicle". Obviously the parts are not available. Is Ford being deceptive on the availability of parts to repair this recall?.

I can't get my vehicle in for recall. I will have to take off work and loose a days pay. My wife is very sick and I need to be with her when I am home. No dealer near me will work with me.
Takata recall: not sure what a 'timely manner' for repair would be but my local Ford dealer has informed me they do not have the parts and were told they would not have them until the end of February. The Ford dealership is in nashua, nh are you aware for this conflict between the 'without delay' repair notice and the fact that Ford dealerships are without parts to provide the necessary repair ASAP.
Takata recall I contacted my local Ford dealer (oneonta Ford in oneonta NY) after receiving a recall notice from Ford in the mail regarding the airbag issue, and they told me that the only thing I could do is call them back on a monthly basis to see if they even get a replacement airbag because they don't know when Ford sends them out. At the time of the call they did not have any replacement airbags in stock nor could they put me on some sort of list to call me when they get them back in stock. They said they had customers waiting months already. I said I didn't feel safe driving my truck with possibly deadly airbags and they offered nothing. I live in a rural area and they are the closest Ford dealer. Their info oneonta Ford, oneonta NY, phone 607-431-7300. I feel this is an unacceptable response to a potential deadly issue. I feel as if I was "brushed off" during the phone call.
I received a recall notice from Ford motor company saying that my truck needed both air bags replaced again. My problem is the letter says the parts are available but the local dealerships can't get them and neither Ford or the dealership will not provide a loaner. So I'm stuck having to drive an unsafe vehicle. Also, the dealership has a stack of people before and I called the initial dealership the very next day after receiving my notice. Isn't the something you can do to help me!! please.
Takata airbags. First recall 2016. Only had parts for passenger airbags. I checked every two months and no parts. Now receive new recall, Ford motor said had parts, but dealer says no. Getting the runaround. I weigh 96 pounds and am 70 years old. If bag is defective then I will be one of the death statistic. I already think was something wrong with airbag.

I got a letter about a recall on the airbags because they have killed people. I contacted the local dealer and they said they do not have the parts yet. Ford is stating in the news that we should not drive this vehicle. The dealer said they are not providing a rental and the Ford hotline has hung up on me several times without allowing me to speak to a person. My son has the car to get to school and now has no way to do that. I need a repair or a rental right away.
