Front Driver Side Air Bag Inflator problems of the 2007 Ford Ranger

Takata recall - we have been unable to get the vehicle repaired by our dealer despite being notified by Ford that parts are now available for this specific vehicle and VIN (see attached notices). We have opened a case with Ford. We have been unable to use our vehicle to transport anyone in the passenger seat for well over a year and although we have made repeated requests to our dealer, Ford of escondido, we have not gotten any satisfaction. We believe the vehicle is unsafe to drive and want to get this inflator replaced as soon as possible.

Takata recall Ford dealers have repeatedly told me, as late as 4/19/2018, recall airbag parts are "not available yet" for my Ford Ranger, despite an email received from Ford saying I need to get a recall completed and, "your front passenger side airbag inflator may violently explode in the event of a crash. When this happens metal fragments can hit the driver or passengers resulting in serious injury or death. " the dealer service department told me to "call back in a few weeks. ".

Takata recall 16v-384 I received a letter from Ford on 4/16/18 stating that "a repair for your 2007 Ford Rangers airbag inflator is available", and to call my dealer to set up an appointment to have it fixed. I have now called 4 dealerships and none of them have the parts to fix the airbag. I received the same letter from Ford for my 2009 Mercury milan over 2 years ago and I'm still waiting for parts for that vehicle. Wtf!!! why send a letter if there isn't any parts at dealerships??? I do think that Ford motor company needs to be stepped on by the us government to get them off their collective gluteus maximuses and get this problem fixed or else face heavy penalties. Usually, when uncle sam calls, things get done. My 2009 Mercury milan has 15000 miles on it, has not been out of the garage since sept. 2017 because I'm afraid to drive it. I've been told by Ford employees that I shouldn't worry about the airbag exploding, but, that does little to assuage my fear. Now my other vehicle(the only one I have left) has the same problem and Ford is already starting with their fake recall letters & lack of parts problem. This is bull-sh-t!!! so much for "buying american". . . . . . . Maybe its time to go shopping for that Honda/Mitsubishi/Toyota/Hyundai.

Takata recall - received a notice from Ford that remedy parts for airbag inflator replacement will be delayed until spring of 2018. In the meantime, do not allow anyone to sit in the first row passenger seat. Big problem for us as this is our only vehicle and we must have a two-seater vehicle every day. Dealership refuses to provide a loaner or rental.

The passenger frontal airbag inflator could rupture if the vehicle is involved in a crash where the supplemental frontal airbags are designed to deploy. This defect report is in response to takata dirs 16e-042, 16e-043, 16e-044.

Takata recall - Ford motor company and local dealership will not replace the inflators.

Takata airbag inflator defect for which the repair parts are still not available. It has been 4 months since I received the safety recall notice.

Takata inflators can't get dealer to repair they keep saying that they don't have the parts for repairs. We have called and checked numerous times.

The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) for the front passenger inflator; however, the parts to do the repair were unavailable. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was not notified of the issue. The contact had not experienced a failure. Takata inflators - when can I expect a resolution to this problem? it has been almost nine (9) months since I received the recall notice. Other companies have resolved this problem in much less time. Our Honda was repaired in less than two(2) months and Honda also provided us with a rental until the problem was resolved.

"tanaka recall"failed to replace defective tanaka airbag in a timely manner. Its been 1year and 4 months since being notified and the dealership still have not received a replacement airbag inflator.

After more than a year on the recall list, there are still no parts available and no action available to fix the threat of passenger frontal airbag inflator rupture. I'm driving a time bomb with the threat of potentially serious injury or death. What can be done?.

Takata recall. The contact owns a 2007 Ford Ranger. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v384000 (air bags) and a manufacturer air bag recall campaign (16b15) for the driver's air bag inflator replacement. The dealer (nick nicholas Ford inc, 2901 FL-44, inverness, FL 34453, (352) 726-1231) was notified, but did not schedule a recall repair after the contact notified them more than three times. The dealer made no mention as to when the remedy and parts would become available to receive the repair. The contact stated that the warning indicator for the air bags illuminated while waiting to receive the repairs. The manufacturer was contacted to determine when the vehicle would be repaired. The failure mileage was not available. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

Takata recall on June 1, 2016. No corrective action in any form by Ford corporate. Ford dealer did not help in any way. I've been living with the risk of an exploding takada air bag inflator for nearly 11 months. High risk of injury. No injury to date.
