1 Wheel Rim problem of the 1998 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 01/19/2006

: the contact stated the original left rear wheel is cracked and rusting along the inner portion by the valve stem of the rim. The vehicle was seen by an independent repair shop. The repair shop personnel determined the rim fractured due to rusting of the steel material of the wheel. This problem only existed on the left rear wheel rim. Although the vehicle was not exposed to harsh weather or other elements, the rusting rim allows air to escape from the attached tire.

2 Wheel Rim problem of the 2001 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 06/08/2004

Consumer was driving on the free way and when exiting heard a grinding sound. When consumer looked at vehicle he noticed the entire front suspension dropped down. This happened due to the rim of the wheel breaking into pieces. This was a standard rim from the manufacturer. Brake caliper behind the rim was damaged. Consumer had the vehicle towed to his home because the vehicle's warranty expired.

Failure Date: 01/13/2004

Wheels and rims are designed to hold water in well near valve stem therefore promoting these items to rust.

4 Wheel Rim problem of the 2001 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 07/31/2003

Consumer states both rear and one front rim are completed rusted from inside to outside. Dealer never seen before. Please provide further information (picture).

5 Wheel Rim problem of the 1997 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 03/26/2001

A rock was caught between tire and rim , causing alloy rim to crack. Dealer / msnufacturer were not notified. Rim available for analysis. Please feel free to provide any further details on this matter.

6 Wheel Rim problem of the 1998 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 12/27/2000

Rim ruptured and deflated, consumer felt if he was going any faster may have lost control of vehicle. Tire was damaged due to the bead coming through the crack in the rim, consumer is concerned about the other 3 rims on vehicle.

7 Wheel Rim problem of the 1996 Ford Ranger

Failure Date: 05/08/2000

While pulling away from a stop front wheels : rim base on driver's side split right down the middle, causing front end of truck to fall to the ground. Truck was towed to dealership. Rim will be replaced at owner's expense. Please provide any further information.
