Manual Transmission problems of the 1996 Ford Taurus

Consumer states that while driving at any speed and no warning the transmission will locked up and it will be hard for the consumer to control the vehicle and the consumer will be force to pull over. Dealer notified. Mr.

2 Manual Transmission problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2001

While driving down a local surface street, the vehicle stopped moving the gear lever moved through the gears without catching, consumer was unable to put vehicle into park to keep it from moving, vehicle was towed in for diagnosis and found that transmission was beyond repair apparently because of its design according to the mechanic.

3 Manual Transmission problem

Failure Date: 07/01/1997

Dealer said tool to repair recall part could not be located, customer will be located when to bring vehicle in.

4 Manual Transmission problem

Failure Date: 11/01/1996

On normal road conditions when coasting or braking at a low speed the vehicle has a very rough downshift. Dealer is aware of problem but has no solution.

5 Manual Transmission problem

When vehicle accelerated transmission jerked hard. A recall has been issued on the vehicle, however this vehicle was not included. Manufacturer has been notfied.

6 Manual Transmission problem

Transmision failed causing vehicle to stall.

7 Manual Transmission problem

The transmission does not shift smoothly, it pauses with a knocking sound to the transmission and engine.
