Two problems related to brake abs warning light have been reported for the 1997 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The dashboard is separating in layers from the frame of the instrument panel. There is TSB 00203 concerning this problem. Also, the consumer is having problems with the abs light coming on and staying on.
While driving, without warning, engine check light/ abs light on dashboard illuminated. Consumer was referred to dealer ship or manufacturer.
