Seven problems related to brake foundation components have been reported for the 1999 Ford Taurus. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While pulling into garage at idle speed consumer applied brake. The pedal went to the floor and vehicle hit the wall of garage. Vehicle has not been examined by dealer. Damage to vehicle and garage unknown at this time. No injuries. Nlm.
When braking front end vibration feels like car not stoping properly.
Brakes were making a squeaking noise. Took to dealer, and they could not duplicate problem.
Front rotor defective, problem has not been corrected and the brake pedal, steering column and front end vibrate and pulsate. This creates a loss of control especially at highway speed.
The car has been in yo shop several times for brake fluid beign low it is a half tank low now and was in shop in Dec 2001today is 1-19-02 the dealer tels me that Taurus,s use brake fluid as the brake pads wear down this car has used at least 3 pints since new . That is my best guess as the dealer has alwase added it. I have never heard of a car using brake fluid as the pads wear down . I just talked to my insurance agent who drives a sable he said he has never added brake fluid to it till he and his brother did a complete brake job on it at 100. 000 miles . Help please.
While driving at 35 mph on wet pavement applied the brakes and they failed to work properly, consumer rear ended another vehicle.
Brakes fail continually in rainy weather causing vehicle to slide and loose control. Mjs.
