Four problems related to brake electric antilock have been reported for the 1996 Ford Thunderbird. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Warped front brake rotors, causing front end vibration when brakes are applied.
Brakes; upon driving approximately 45mph applied the brakes and there was no brakes. Applied emergency parking brakes which slowed down a little the vehicle, but not like it should. The brakes were inoperative. Vehicle is in for repair.
Brake rotors keep warping, and when brakes are depressed the vehicle shakes. Dealer contacted and is aware of the problem. Problem not covered under extended warranty, problem cannot be duplicated, all repair work done at owner's expense.
While sitting at an intersection at stop light, foot applied to brake pedal, suddenly pedal traveled to floor, was able to pump up once pedal, but, brakes went back down.
