Headlight Switch problems of the 2014 Ford Transit Connect

The contact owns a 2014 Ford Transit Connect. While driving through a construction zone at night, the high beams were turned on, but failed to illuminate correctly. There were no warning indicators illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an auto electrical shop where it was diagnosed with a faulty head light switch that needed replacement. The switch was replaced, but the failure persisted. They vehicle was taken back to the auto electrical shop were it was diagnosed with a second switch that needed replacement. The second headlight switch was replaced, but the failure still persisted. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to NHTSA. The failure mileage was approximately 36,000.
