Rear view camera has quit working. It has not worked properly for quite awile.
The rear view camera keeps doing weird things. One time you back up, it could be fine. The next time the picture will be upside down. The next time - no picture at all. The next time it could say that the camera is not working. . . . . Ford issued a recall on a lot of models regarding this issue - they need to include my vehicle model and others.
I started experiencing a sluggishness and jerking sensation upon acceleration. I took my van to starling Ford who diagnosed it to be a transmission issue. An estimate was given for either replacing or repairing the transmission. Shock. I took the van to premier auto care, for a second opinion. They then referred me to quality transmission after driving the van. I asked Ford for some assistance since the quote was so much and it was out of warranty at 60,784 miles due to "wear and tear". After about a week, Ford responded with $5,984. 37. I decided to have quality transmission replace the transmission after hearing from 2 mechanics that they had seen other Ford Transit Connect vans, with more mileage than mine, having the same transmission problems. I find it hard to believe that a transmission had to be replaced before 100,000 miles, which seems to be the magic number for miles. My van is used for personal use only.

No remedy from Ford for this recall since September 8 2025. This is a work vehicle I can not use until recall fixed.

I am submitting this complaint to report an unresolved safety recall and the inability to obtain a timely inspection or repair, which I believe places me and my family at increased risk of a crash. My vehicle is a 2015 Ford Transit Connect. The vehicle is subject to Ford safety recall 25s89 and NHTSA recall 25v572, concerning a failure of the rearview camera system. The rearview camera on my vehicle frequently displays a message stating “rear view camera unavailable, contact Ford dealership” and then goes to a black screen. This results in a complete loss of rear visibility while backing up, increasing the risk of a collision, especially involving pedestrians or other vehicles. I received the safety recall notice in September 2025. Since then, I have made numerous attempts to have the vehicle inspected and repaired. Despite repeated contact with my local dealership, has informed me that they cannot perform the inspection or recall repair because they do not have an sscc repair procedure available and therefore cannot proceed. I have also contacted Ford motor company customer service by phone multiple times, but these calls have not resulted in a resolution or a clear path to getting the vehicle repaired. As a result, I am left operating a vehicle with a known safety defect and no access to the recall remedy. I am deeply concerned for my safety and the safety of my family. Operating this vehicle without a reliable rearview camera significantly increases the chance of a crash, and I believe the continued delay in providing a remedy defeats the purpose of a safety recall. I respectfully request that NHTSA document this complaint and take any appropriate action to ensure that Ford motor company provides a timely inspection and repair for this safety defect.
The backup camera flips the image upside down and has static throughout the image. Occasionally it blinks out completely. This began happening on an occasional basis over the past few years, but in the past year it has been consistently upside down all the time.
During a rainy day, I had water coming in from around the top driver's side windshield and from the inside light above the dash. According to my VIN there are no recalls, but apparently there have been recalls on the seal around the windshield on some. I have not had the vehicle inspected by the dealer. The problem began last month (January 2025) and each time it rains I have issues with leaking.

Rear view camera malfunction. Back up function stopped working and screen has now whited out permanently even when car is moving forward.
1. The 2019 Transit Connect wagon transmission would buck or jerk when removing my foot from the accelerator when going 60 mph or more. The brake was not press at the time of the jerk. 2. When entering the Ford service center for the transmission check appointment, the left front brake seized. There was an odor of burning brake pads. 3. After the brake module was replaced and the service center took it for a test drive of the transmission, the technician told me the lighting module needed to be replaced and the vehicle continued to stay at the service center. 4. While still at the service center, they connected the vehicle for a computer reboot/refresh that would take over night. The next morning they informed me that the reboot did not take in the vehicle computer system. 5. The service center called in a regional Ford technician three times to try to solve the issues without success. 6. We never had possession of the vehicle during this time. It continues to be in possession of the service center and to our knowledge is not repaired. 7. The "service engine" red light never came up on the instrument panel when the incident happened.
The rear passenger side sliding door fell off the track and fell off the vehicle, while the door was being closed. I originally reported difficulty to the dealership shortly after purchasing the vehicle around 2016. I asked the dealership on multiple occasions to fix the door sliding issue. I was told there was nothing they could do to fix it. The door was always difficult to open and close. 6/25/24, the door fell off the vehicle while it was being closed.
While driving on the highway, the panoramic roof window started lifting up along the leading edge of the glass panel. I was to slow down and get off the highway before the panel came completely out of the recessed window frame. Ford has told me that my VIN shows the recall repair on the roof was performed already by Ford for a previous owner. A local Ford dealership looked into redoing the repair under a replacement warrenty, but was told it is not covered because the recall work was down more than 2 years ago. This seems a problem to me. The panoramic window is a fixed glass pane. Recall repair for this should last for the life of the car, not two years. I beleive the repair of the window does not actually solve the documented recall problem effectively.

The transmission is having a shuddering issue, and looking online there on tons and tons of people having the same issue and stating it’s the torque converter and this is over many different years and variants of my vehicle… how is this not a recall yet?? people are having this issue right after purchase?.

Safety recall issued April 2024 for panoramic glass. Ford dealerships are unable to repair due to glass companies refusing to assist. This issue has been taken to all dealerships on the island, with the same results. Calling Ford recall (4 times) has finally prompted an open case and claim number #xxx information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
Door latches - took this vehicle into hopkins Ford dealer in elgin IL. The parts aren't in so it is delaying the repair. The main question I have is every time I have a recall I am told I have to wait for the part to break so they can send to Ford as proof in order to get the parts. This does not make sense to me as this is a safety issue am I to wait to get injured because the recalled part finally breaks and then I can use the recall to repair my vehicle?.
Hello - this is not a safety issue with my car. For the moment. Inputting the VIN it states that there is only 1 row of seats (d/p). This is not accurate. There are 3 seat rows in my van. (front x2, middle x3 and rear seats x2) total of 7 seats. Thus this should be corrected for my VIN. If or when I have a complaint about the safety of the seats, belts, head rests etc. . . It will make sense. I do not have a cargo van. It's a seven passenger seat van.
The driver side door latch failed and the door will no longer latch when closed. Thankfully it failed while the vehicle was stopped. Obviously this is a safety concern as the door can now open on its own and can not be secured closed. The vehicle is currently at a local Ford dealership (gary yeoman's Ford) where the component is being replaced. There were no warning lights or symptoms, it was working fine until it failed.
Rear view camera is no longer functioning properly.
Vehicle was taken into the fleet division of joe cooper Ford on or around March 30th 2023 for the active windshield recall. On that visit, they were notified that the windshield had already been replaced by safelite on March 18th 2021 due to a crack that compromised the windshield's integrity. After the vehicle being in their possession for ~13 days, they stated that all they needed was a copy of the invoice and that the recall information would be sent to Ford and the recall alert cleared. I provided a physical copy at the same time I picked it up and as of this moment the recall still has not been cleared. This is a fleet vehicle, so I am notified regularly that I still have not had this taken care of. I called joe cooper back on two occasions to check up on the status, with the last time being July 3rd, 2023 in which they requested I email copies of the safelite invoice again. Attached is the invoice from joe cooper as well as the invoice from safelite confirming full windshield replacement using an aftermarket fuyao windshield. I cannot get an answer as to why there is a hold up so I cannot tell if this is an issue on Ford's part or the dealership. I am, however, looking to resolve this issue.
I have sing of transmission fault service now.
July2, 2022 Saturday, 4pm 2021 Ford Transit Connect titanium -sudden unintended acceleration I was making a very slow (2-3mph) u-turn in an empty, very small strip mall parking lot with the brake being lightly pushed as I went around tight left turn. 3/4 thru the turn the van suddenly accelerated while I believe the brake pedal was still being pushed, I pushed the brake pedal down hard but the van continued to accelerate. . It wouldn't slow down. The van jumped the curb and ran into a 4' square cement planter on the sidewalk, sliding the planter about 3 ft. Forward. The whole sudden acceleration happened within about 3-5 seconds and was stopped by the cement planter, cutting off the engine. All front airbags were deployed. A few cuts and bruises from the airbags required no medical attention. No citations were issued by the police. The vehicle damage has been estimated at 27,000 and the insurance company is deciding whether to total it or repair it.
The catalytic converter is stopped up, and that is definitely a safety issue, causing extra heat. In the event of it touching almost anything, it makes it more likely than not that a fire will ensue! this happened on the day that I purchased the car. Within hours. Dealer is ldt motors in amarillo texaa.
Need to replace swollen lug nuts on the vehicle. If I were to have a flat on the highway the tire would not be able to change it because the lug nuts are too big. No wrench will fit it. Service man said because the nuts are a 2 part lug nut, moisture gets in and make the nuts swollen and they get to big to take off with the wrench. Is the part defective? advice me the cost from the dealer to replace. I read that the possible cause is tightening the lugs too tight. Not using the proper torque when changing tires. I have only Ford work on my car and they know it’s defective because it happened to my husband’s car and they covered it. They should be replaced by Ford. It’s defective. Thank you!.
I kept hearing a banging sound which sounded like it was my ladder rack. So I took my ladder off until I could get it looked at. Which made no difference. And one day while driving I hit a bump in the road and the whole windshield lifted and slammed back down cracking all over. I didn’t know what to do so I was able to get some windshield adhesive and glue it back in however it’s still cracked in several places all over the windshield. And now I’m assuming it has to do with the recent recall. Are they responsible for the windshield? thank you, steve ritter.
My vehicle is less than 5 years old, 10 months out of warranty. The locks stopped working. They made the noise, but no action. So, I thought the locks were still working. The dealership had no idea what the issue was - they've had my vehicle for almost a month trying to figure it out. So far they've changed the body control module and are getting another part. Ford will do nothing even though locks should be something always covered or at least for 5 years. No warnings. This put me at risk as I camp in the vehicle and didn't know it wasn't locking (because it made the noise like it was).
The fuse associated with the rearview camera of this vehicle has consistently blown over the last few years leaving the backup camera inoperable with no image on the dashboard display. The lack of a functioning backup camera results in the loss of a view directly behind the vehicle which could result in an accident. A warning stating that "rear view camera is unavailable" and a dark display occur when the fuse is blown. The rearview camera fuse blows often typically only after a few vehicle trips. After diagnosing the blown fuse issue, chafing of a wiring harness was found behind a grommet where wires pass between the vehicle body and the rear liftgate. The damaged wiring harness is in the vehicle and available for inspection. This issue has also been documented by others as was discovered by searching for information on the internet.
6-2021: crackling sound on radio, whether on or off. 2 types: like bare wires rubbed together, or connecting/disconnecting speaker. ·crackling persists after vehicle shut off. Eventually stops. 12-2021: ·radio quit working, crackling sound continued, appears random. ·observed lights on @ distance. Then off. Vehicle was parked overnight, inactive. 2-2022: ·2-year-old battery died. Dead again in a few days. (parasitic drain) mechanic said it needed new radio. New radio was > $600. 00, required reconfiguration of dashboard. ·lost many, not all functions, of sync system, & it goes to sleep after a few minutes. Backup camera doesn’t work if sync system is asleep. Sometimes revived after pushing sync button on steering column. ·auto electrical mechanic said still a drain on electrical system, but not like before. Rebuilt alternator & refurbished the fuse box too. Said electrical drain was from information control module on dashboard. Said take vehicle to Ford, have them reprogram the module where display screen is located & the drain occurring while vehicle is parked, would stop. ·Ford technician said they had “no updates” on information control module. Took care of recall & transmission issues, returned the vehicle. Oparasitic drain & dead battery continued. 3-2022: ·battery tests as good but dies in 2 days. Engine quit if jumper cables were removed. Then died before they were removed. Appeared dead, no start even though connected to a good battery via jumper cables. ·asked dealer to reprogram information control module. ·they gave it back, saying, “it’s acceptable”. Othey disconnected an “aftermarket” module. Went from 64 milliamps to 42 milliamps. Drove 90 minutes & parked. 29 hours later battery died. Dlr. Said turn off/disconnect everything before shutting off vehicle: no automatic lights, heater, phone charger, etc. Apparently this is a body control module (bcm) problem. Not “information control module” problem.
My van was running fine until the piece that goes on the transmission that makes it shift broke off after that broke I started having transmission problems when I took it to have it checked they told me the piece that broke was a recalled piece for this type of vehicle. So I know that the recalled piece is what caused my transmission to start messing up. Their saying it's going to cost me $9000 to replace the transmission. I feel like this recalled piece causes my transmission to start messing up and I shouldn't have to pay out of pocket that much money for something that was recalled anyways.
On 9/7/21 we were retuning from nb to colorado 0n I-80 about 30 miles east of north plate nb the moon roof blew off off of our 2014 Ford transit van Ford has refused to fix it but there has been over 5000 recall for this problem?.
The change box does not want to give me the changes, how to move forward or backward.
The front driver-side door will not latch. The door opened while driving. The fault appeared on the afternoon of Saturday 21aug21. My seat belt saved my life and those around me in traffic. I booked the first available appointment for my local Ford dealership to inspect on Thursday 26aug21. No warning sounds or changes in operation to indicate there was a problem prior to the fault.
Opened the rear hatch and when I go to close the rear hatch it does not latch.
Shifter cable bushing failure. Car is stuck in gear, won't start because it says it is in drive.
