Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problems of the 1996 Ford Windstar

Failure Date: 01/17/2003

The vehicle rolled back with the gear in the parking position on the drive way.

2 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/19/2002

Vehicle was put in park with engine running. Consumer got out and walked around the side, and noticed vehicle rolling forward. Consumer jumped in vehicle and applied the brakes, and vehicle hit garage door. Cause was unknown. Please provide any further information.

3 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/03/1999

After exiting the passenger was left in the vehicle as the passenger went to take the key out of the ignition ,the vehicle jumped into the reverse gear and back into another vehicle . Dealer has been contacted.

4 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 12/12/1998

Recall 96s50. When the car is in park it does not engage and it will roll. Dealer has not been contacted to remedy the problem. Provide further information.

5 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 06/20/1998

While parked in incline position and the key is out of the ignition the child switched transmission gear from park position to neutral position with the emergency parking brake on, the vehicle rolled down almost. Please provide details.

Interlock system does not prevent the gear from shifting from one gear to another.

7 Automatic Transmission Park/neutral Start Switch problem

Failure Date: 03/13/1996

Vehicle rolled away while vehicle was parked, and keys were out of ignition.
