Transmission Gear Slipping problems of the 1998 Ford Windstar

1 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2003

While driving automatic transmission slips gears, causing the vehicle to hesitate.

2 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 09/24/2002

Transmission started slipping and stopped altogether within one day. Ph.

3 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 04/04/2002

Vehicle lost power, rpms went up, transmission slipped while travelling 55mph on local expressway.

4 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

Failure Date: 06/01/1999

On several occasions transmission slipped into neutral while at a stop. In this instance, transmission slipped into neutral while driving at approximately 35 m. P. H. , causing definite safety hazard on a state route.

5 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

While driving transmission slipped from drive into neutral without notice. Consumer was unaware and still applying gas when it jumped back into gear very hard, causing whiplash. Dealer has been contacted.

6 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

While traveling noticed transmission was slipping. Technician service stated transmission needed to be replaced. Please provide further infomation.

7 Transmission Gear Slipping problem

When driving at any speed vehicle started to jerk. Also, problem occurred more since transmission filter has been changed. Consumer has contacted dealer, dealer noted that transmission shift gear is slipping within the transmission. Please provide any further details.
