3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/29/2017

Over drive flashing off and on will not go off. Fuses blow out right after you start up the van. It started when I made a turn at a green light. On the back roads.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/03/2017

Took vehicle to dealership for brake examination (abs light came on) and service advisor told that there were corrosion holes in rear axle and it was not safe to drive!!! should have been recalled by Ford and repaired at their expence as I was told it has been dangerous to drive for some time. . .

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2016

Yes I contacted Ford about the recall on the rear axle they said I dont have a recall on my van but my rear axle just split.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/26/2016

Nftsa safety recall 15v-608 we had to pay Ford $300 or else they were not going to perform the recall work. Why should we have to pay anything at all for a recall which is a fault of Ford and not us at the owner? we are not happy at all with this situation but felt forced to pay for the safety of the driver and passengers of this vehicle.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/19/2016

I recently had my Windstar front end worked on by a local Ford dealer, who was supposed to take care of all recall issues. They did a crappy job of that and now the vehicle is sitting my driveway with the axle snapped in half. Had it towed to my home when it broke on the highway. This is not a safe vehicle and we were very lucky no-one got hurt.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/09/2015

9-10-2015 after numerous attempt's to resolve recall I was driving to work on ritchie hwy and the rear axile which was one of the many recalls made me loose control of vehicle and once I gained control car was drivin to near supermarket parking lot and driver's side axile broke and car was disabled I later made it to work and was taken via ambulance to hospital onset panic attack. Contacted car ins and Ford customer service since 9-10-15 I was given case# cas7858636 not until 9/2016 I contacted Ford after numerous calls within 1 yr period spoke to christie and she explained me that customer service failed to contact me "sorry" then she contacted Ford bob bell service station and I towed car again with my money. And have yet to hear from them I almost died in this car and no one has made my experience good I know have anxiety and no car. . . . . . No rental.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2015

Between my March 2015 oil change and my July 30 2015 oil change the control arms broke and completely ruined a tire all the way around the tire. Chewed it up very badly putting me at risk for an accident from a blow out or loss of control. I don't know exactly when the problem occurred. The problem was found by the shop at the oil change. I am finding online where there is much concern about the control arms on these vehicles. Both front lower control arms were replaced by the shop. The brought one of the tires into the lobby for me to see and it was absolutely chewed up all the way around the tire. It is a wonder I did not have an accident.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/07/2015

Last night at approximately 8:30 pm, a pleasant evening at about 65 degrees and a light rain; for no reason whatsoever the rear quarter (automated) window exploded on the drivers side. The glass was on the inside of the vehicles back and middle seats as well as in the driveway. Because I have seen several other complaints about this issue, I think this qualifies as a safety hazard because of the shards of glass flying everywhere; if there would have been anybody in the van this could have caused them serious injury. Ford motor company needs to be held accountable for this issue and back it up with action by finding and fixing the problem; or at the very least cover the cost of the damages.

11 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/06/2014

I was on my way home from work, when my van started to shake and sound like I had a flat tire. I got out of the van and looked no flat. When I made it home I noticed that the back tire was leaning at an angle. I checked my lug nuts but they were tight. I looked under the van and seen that the axle brace was broken. I called Ford customer service at 1-800-392-3673 they told me that the recall on the rear axle was fixed in 2010 and it didn't matter that it was the same problem they were not helping. This problem could have caused an accident. If there is a recall shouldn't it stay in effect until the problem is completely fixed no matter how many times it takes to correct the problem? when I asked if it had caused an accident if it would have been covered then they said no!.

12 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/22/2014

Abs brake light and parking brake light came on driving down the highway and remain on at this time. The brakes were recently serviced and currently there is nothing wrong with them. There is concern for vehicle safety and braking system. It is unknown if this is a error in the module and abs still work or if abs is disabled. Ford was contacted and made aware of the issues. Based on the compliants for this vehicle Ford is well aware of the concerns for safety, but as of this date but have yet to issue a recall. There is also a noise coming from the undercarriage that is associated with the steering column. There have been recalls on this as well, however, my vehicle was not in the recall. Ford may want to extend the recall to other Windstar vins.

13 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/25/2014

Turned on van with all this occurring at once: "check transmission", speedometer not working (reads 0mph), "abs" light stays on, "brake" light stays on, "o/d off" light flashing, "trac off" light illuminated, "fuel computer data error", "oil life data error", "traction control data error", outside temperature "error", odometer malfunction reads "-----------", cruise control not working, ac not cold, hot air not hot.

14 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/06/2013

Abs light on.

15 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2013

Traction control engages when turning. Acceleration is limited while traction control is engaged. Antil-lock brakes engage when stopping causing extra stopping distance. Dry pavement.

16 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2013

Just driving the van and it shows check traction control and my abs and brake lights come on and traction control off. It keeps recurring and do not know what to do to fix it. If I pull over on the side road and shut off the key and wait a minute and start it back up the lights and all go away for a bit. If I drive it with lights on and the check traction control on it smells like something is burning. So I have to pull over and shut it off all the time until the lights are gone.

17 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 03/15/2013

Abs modal failure bad soder connection abs light and thus brake lights on dash stay on.

18 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/12/2012

Abs trouble light keeps coming on and going off. It was checked and the mechanic said it was safe to drive if I didn't want to spend the money. I have found out that the connector is absorbing fluids and shorting out. This shorting out happens mostly in warm weather. In sub 0 weather the light pretty much stays off. There is still a chance of fire when it is shorting out. I complained to Ford and was told there was no recall on this item. They gave me a case number for my complaint. It is #4013467. This problem is a direct cause of fluids leaking on the modgular connector and heat from engine. Rick.

19 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/22/2011

Abs/brake lights stays on.

20 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2010

I have had the abs and handbreak lights coming on for a few years. I have been told by the Ford dealer in lees summit mo that there is no problem and I can just keep on driving it.

21 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2008

The abs, brake, traction control lights come on and whenever it is warm out and the abs and traction control do not work! this is a serious safety issue effecting stopping and steering control and should be a Ford safety recall. A faulty computer board expands and contracts causing malfunctions in the system.

22 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2007

My abs light/brake light is on - started 2007- was told it would cost 1200. 00 dollars to fix it; that it was ok to use the car in this condition. 8/14/14- replaced the wheels bearings on the front right and left wheels-after the bearings / and sway bars were replace still hear a grinding noise front the right front of vehicle. Noise becomes more pronounced the longer you drive the vehicle . Also the abs/brake light is still on when you drive the car.
