Abs light, brake light came on. The seatbelt unhooks while I’m driving, I was told I had a cracked axle, the wheel bearing was very noisy, I’ve paid a lot of money to get things fixed. The labor was at a ridiculous amount on $25 parts. I’m wondering if I’ve paid to have parts fixed that were under recall. I fix one thing and then there’s another issue. Oil is leaking under the hood and I’m afraid it will catch fire so I’m scared to drive.
Takata recall. My van will not shift out of 1 gear. Only can reach maximum of 20 miles per hour.
The needles on the temperature gauge, rpm gauge and gas gauge started to move up and down in a crazy manner. After a while, it stopped, but it comes back occassionally. Also, the abs and brake light will come on at times. I had the breaks looked at and nothing appears to be wrong.
Ecu module for abs is shorted out and causes gauge cluster to short out. This causes abs light & brake light to turn on and all gauges stop working and they jump around . This was diagnosed by Ford dealership in WI. Said brake fluid leaks in to ecu and shorts out wires . Told me . $2000. 00 to fix . These problems are a safety issue . Abs and speedometer and gauges don't work . Should be a recall .
While sitting at the red light my brake light, abs light, over drive lights all came on and then my speedometer would not register when I started to go when the light turned green.
I was driving down the interstate going to a local fast food when I loss all acceleration the car was slowing down even though I was giving it gas. Knowing I was slowing down I turned my hazard lights on and coasted to the shoulder lane the car was still running so I turned the car on and off. I still had no acceleration the car wouldn't go into any gear or reverse I had know choice but to tow it home. I looked around on the internet to find out what the problem is it seems that this is all to common with Ford Windstars. Just looking for a solution to what seems to be a problem even if you go down the list of possible replacements just needing help with a solution. I didn't have the usual indicators that you would have when something goes wrong my engine light didn't come on at all which is weird.
The same part indicated in recall is bad, my van needs fix. The recall doesn't cover my part or repair because my VIN isn't showing any recalls. When the same problem happened to me indicated in the recall. Is there anything I can do?.
Tl-the contact owns a 2001 Ford Windstar. The contact stated that brake fluid was leaking onto the wiring harness and caused a shortage with the vehicle speed control, instrument cluster and the radio. The contact referenced NHTSA campaign id number: 09v399000 (vehicle speed control), which the dealer installed a connector to the brake pressure switch but the repair did not correct the failure. The dealer did not include the fused wiring harness in line with the scds. The contact stated that after the vehicle was taken to his home, he installed a number 10 fuse however, the connector was still faulty and caused smoke to emit from the wiring harness. The dealer was notified of the failure and offered no assistance. The manufacturer was also notified, who advised that they had performed the required recall repair but could provide no further assistance. The failure mileage was 103,153. Kmj.

Abs light, air bag light and brake light keeps coming back on while car is on.
A few weeks after purchasing my van I had issues with my brake light and abs light coming on while I was driving. It did seem to cause any issues and the lights when off ever time I turned my van off and then back on. A few months ago I was coming up to a red light so naturally I started to slow down when I tried to come to a complete stop I kept going. The perfect way to describe what happen, it felt like I hit my brakes on a solid sheet of ice. I could here the abs clicking and also felt the vibration in the brake pedal. That day it was 95 degrees and sunny. I almost caused an accident and the only things that stopped me was the emergency brake. It continued to do it every time I tried to slow down to stop that I refused to put my children in the vehicle. Last week after almost causing a few accidents I ended up pulling the main fuses to the abs. Since I have done this the only issue I have had is my speedometer acting up. I feel that Ford needs to seriously look into this issue. I have already had 5 recalls fixed on my van and this needs to be another one.
I purchased. This car in August 2013 before I got the car has 20 miles down the road the brake light came on subsequently both the abs and the emergency brake light has come on and off the abs light is on most of the time and there is a noise when breaking my mechanic doesn't know what it is and I have found out that this is a recall problem on other vehicles by calling the Ford dealer and looking online. This particular van is not covered but it's clearly having the same problem. The speed control stop working within three or four months of my having the car as well. And the rear wiper doesn't work and I'm very suspicious as to why.
Brake and abs light go off and on could smell hot copper wire . . . . Code like 11 brake codes all due to abs module.
The check traction control system warning illuminates, as well as the abs, trac off, and the brake system warning lights on the dash.
While driving, the speedometer ,the odometer, the tachometer all stopped working. The abs light came on,the red brake light came on,and the o/d off light continues to flash. It is extremely difficult to operate this vehicle without at least a speedometer and I hope the brakes do not fail. This all occurred shortly after the brake master cylinder switch was replaced.
I turned in my Ford Windstar on to the john west Ford diler , the abs, and brake lights came on 3 days before to brought it for been diagnosed. 2 days after they gave me an estimate for $ 2400. 00 dollars. That really surprise me and I answer no thanks do not fix my car. They put my van together and since that moment my van I didn't start again is like a death . They said the pcm and abs module got burned. I think they made a mistake and kill my van pcm but I cant proved. I was reading the abs recall about and sounds like there is nothing releated wiht the pcm module. Any way they sent my van back home onto a town truck and at this moment a can't find the problem yet. Oh I almost forgot some for sure they charge me $ 200. 00 for diagnosis. If you want to confirm my history you can call mr; tony albaniano telephone #; 775-745-1889 775-747-6923 reno nv.

Abs light and brake light are on ever since the recall (11/09) fix on the cruise switch.
The abs and hand brake kept coming on intermittently. The braking distance has increased. And now the lights are on almost permanently. Based on reports, am afraid if this is going to result in a fire eventually.
I am writing this to whom this may concern speed control on Windstar 2001 is the idling problem when putting drive the idle goes up to 35 the 40 mile an hour running making it hard to stop until it drops if it drops vehicle likes to lunge forward when leaving a stoplight or stop sign or sitting still in line at traffic this is a real problem I have had the sensors changed twice this problem still exists soon as you touch the gas pedal the vehicle jumps to 35 to 40 mile an hour. If there's a recall for this problem I sure would like to know about it thank you very much. [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).

Intermittently vehicle has a 6-7 second delay response to acceleration. When throttle is applied engine revs up, and jerks before accelerating. Problem is more likely to happen in the morning. Dealer was notified. Please provide more information.
After coming to a stop brakes were applied but engine still raced. This happened a second time on June 18, 2002. The vehicle lurched foward as consumer was attempting to place vehicle in park.
When I started my minivan it was an afternoon. I noticed that when I started driving the minivan it was like forcing it self then I would change the speed and it would sound different but it felt like it was heavy, I would change it to n and it still make this sound like if I was driving on a wet highway and engine was still loud. When I would speed more than 30 mph it just wouldn't respond as it did before. I purchased this minivan not to long ago -I would say close to a month-. When taking it for a test drive everything looked good, sounded ok -other than the shocks that needed to be replaced- and no lights were on. But after two days had gone by the previous owner said that the abs light would "sometimes" turn on and would turn off on its own. So, I had a mechanic inspect the minivan for the replacement of the shock wondering if this might take care of the problem, but after the work was done the abs and brake light started to turn on. Went back to the mechanic because it came making weird sound on the left side so he told me that brake pads also needed to be replaced, so I thought to myself this would take care of the problem which it didn't happen. Now after close to a month of owning this minivan and weather becoming much hotter I noticed this problem. I had a mechanic look at it again today and he suggested that a take it to a Ford dealership to have the minivan inspected since he was also aware of a recall done on these types of vehicles. I am just afraid to keep on driving it because I can tell something is just not right and I feel that it's just going to brake down on me anytime soon. And since I have a baby I prefer not to drive or drive a long distance or even on a high speed.
Vehicle lurches forward and revs at very high rpms while moving at slow speeds.
While traveling down a hill, and without any indication, the vehicle started to surge forward. The dealer was unable to duplicate the problem.
