The contact owns a 2002 Ford Windstar. While driving at approximately 25 mph, the abs and brake warning lights were illuminated on the dashboard. The vehicle was taken to an independent repair facility where she was informed that the anti-lock brake control module would need to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The abs and brake lights continue to intermittently illuminate on the dashboard. The failure mileage was 89,000 and the current mileage was unavailable.
Both frontal air bags inadvertently deployed partially, while driving over a rail road between 10-15 mph. The dealership inspected the vehicle and found no impact, therefore a sensor must of malfunctioned. The sensor and black box has been sent to the factory for further inspection.
While driving approximately 65 mph, the driver's side air bag deployed without warning. No bumps or cracks in the highway were hit to cause this problem. The vehicle was taken to the dealer. The driver was taken to the emergency room with pain in the chest and neck. Upon inspection corrosion was found on the driver's side impact sensor. The sensor was replaced.
