My front passenger wheel came off my car when I came to a stop to allow a car pass by, I went to make a left handed turn when my entire wheel came off my car and shot across the road. My husband came to look at the car and well as a tow truck had to take our car home, both made the comment that all five bolts scheered off. State farm our insurance company plugged this information into their system and said that it is a Ford issue and that I need to fill out this complaint form for ya'll to investigate. State farm is saying that it has to do with the rotar and vibration if the wrong parts are installed this situtation could happen. Well I told state farm and I will tell you, the rotars are from the factory and so the "wrong parts" were not used and it is not a possiblity because it did happen to me. Forturnately I was not injured and my precious girls were not in the car with me, but I don't want this to happen to anyone else or for that matter who is to say the other rotar won't do this on the other side. Please call me if you have any questions or need additional information. Thank you for your time with this matter.
While the insured was driving the tire fell off due to two lug nuts had cracked. Claim# 33-0348-233.
The threaded screws that the lugnuts screw onto snapped in half and car was inspected by Ford dealership mechanic and they do not want to take responsibility for this problem being a defect in workmanship. Also, they won't honor a second opinion from another expert mechanic. In addition, I purchased the extended service contract for $1400 which is effect until 100,000 miles. I need someones help with this matter.

Studs on rt. Front wheel sheared off while making a left hand turn at low speed, separating wheel from vehicle.
My concern is why all five studs that hold the wheel on broke at once, resulting in lose of steering. The body shop and the insurance agent could offer no good reason for this failure, they said maybe the lug nuts were over tight. Now I'm concern about it happening again to another wheel if something is defective.
Insured claims the lug nuts sheared off on the right front wheel for no apparent reason, claim 17-9168-422.
Front passenger side tire has fallen off three times while the consumer was driving. Bolts that hold tire in place kept breaking off the lugs: nuts. Contacted dealer, and the dealer did not know what the problem was.
While driving, the studs broke off the wheel, causing the vehicle to strike the ground. (claim#33-0269-919).
The front right wheel sheared off the lugs and caused the wheel to just about fall off while we were driving the car. The dealer replced the lugs (only the broken ones and not all of them). Just over one year later, the exact same thing happened; that is, the right front wheel sheered off the lugs and caused the wheel to almost fall off. A few months prior to the second incident, all 4 tires were changed by an independent tire place. That tire place swears up and down that they properly torqued the bolts and that their standard inspection calls for a second inspection to confirm this. I tend to believe that they did this. I think there is a known defect in the wheel design by which the lug nuts are known to back off during use, causing the wobbly wheel to shear off the other lugs. I have seen this condition reported by others on this site.
Left front wheel lug bolts sheared off causing the tire and wheel to come off and hit another vehicle, consumer requests reimbursement.

Half of all five were on the road & the others were on the wheel axle. Dealer said they might have been tightened too much. A tork wrench was used to prevent over or under tightening.
While drivng wheels on right front passenger's side came completely off. All lugs:nuts were broken with no sign of wear and tear. Van was towed to dealership. Please provide any further information.

We were driving at approx. 45 mph when the front passenger wheel came off and rolled into on coming traffic. My the front passenger side was smashed as the vehicle skidded to a stop. We had not had any recent repairs to the wheels and had not changed tires since November 1999. My husband and 2 young children were in the car when the accident occurred. The police drove by and when they saw that no one was injured did not stop to take a report. The accident was reported to our insurance company and we were required to pay our $500. 00 deductible.
