Air Bag Light On problems of the 2007 GMC Acadia

I purchased this vehicle from a dealer, I instantly fell in love with it. Loved the room and all the features. I have owed this for less than a year. One day I had noticed water coming into the vehicle. I noticed it mainly under the drivers floor. It looked minor since the rugs are black and I have rubber floor mats. The real issue happen while driving my airbag light came on and on my message center stated to service air bags. I didnt have a chance to address the issue since this happen around the holidays. I decided not to drive my GMC until I could get into a gm dealer. I called to make an appointment with a locale gm dealer 2nd week of January took time from work to address issue and to address the tailgate recall. I ask them to find out why my airbag light was on and if service was needed. It was determined by the tech that there was heavy water in my vehicle that leaked into the air bag modular that is located behind the glove box. It also damage the airbag sensor located in the floor under the rug. My husband advised a rep at the dealer that the issue may be the water channels. But per the tech it was determine that the front windshield was cause of the water per the tech the drains on my sunroof were working and was not the issue for the water. I was advised it was going to cost me $4200? to have the airbag floor sensors, airbag module replace, new rug installed and windshield replaced. It cost me $3200 to fix without having the rug replaced since my concern was the airbag communicated with the veh. No vehicle for 5 days, rug aired/dried by dealer and fixed. I got veh back on Friday less than 72 hours later call to gm dealer. Water is still leaking in same location same issue, water is not resolved afraid that the water is going to cause a further damage to vehicle and airbag. Im surprised that there has never been a recall for this issue?.

GMC transmissions are crap, going on the third one. The airbag light is on for what the recall is for but GMC is denying the recall.

Also, while attempting to make a left turn and accelerate, the vehicle would not respond. Passenger air bag indicator has been intermittently going on and off for over a year, when a person weighing over 100 lbs is seated there. Recently the service air bag has come on the dic, and the air bag indicator is always off now when anyone is seated.

2007 GMC Acadia slt-1 passenger air bag light goes on and off while driving. And the display in the dash says passenger air bag needs servicing. I contacted GMC and they said they had no recalls listed for my vehicle based on my VIN number but have found several websites that says there should be an open recall based on my vehicles year, make, and model.

Airbag light on for passenger side airbags. Has taken to dealership, unable to fix. Current recall does not cover 2007, but 2007 has the same problem as 2008 and beyond.

Service airbag light illuminated in the dash; technical service bulletin available to dealer for similar issue only covers the airbag connector not the airbag module, which has gone out in this vehicle, on the passenger side. I have discussed with dealer and gm and they are unwilling to repair this safety issue. This appears to be a common defect in the 2007, 2008 GMC Acadia as well as the Buick enclave and early chevy traverse. A simple internet review will show multiple complaints. Gm is unwilling to recall these vehicles for this part which would be the proper customer care but instead will complain here for review. A review of the number of vehicles affected by this safety issue is needed.
