We got this 2007 GMC Acadia at 100,230 miles on August 2014. Now it has around 133,800 miles. At 115,000 miles it stated to have issues where it said stability track. The traction control turns off by itself and not sure if the stability and this are the same thing. Some electric parts have already failed. The charging outlet and electric windows don't work right. The passenger side can not be put down by driver side. The rear right side can only be put down of up by the driver. The left rear does not work when the driver puts it down or up. The power in the lift gate in the back has gone out. It only opens or closes manually. There was also a recall with the lift gate and we got it fixed. After it was fixed then a while later it would close on us and it almost hit us but we reacted fast. It only closed on us about three times then it stopped working. It was recall 15240. The safety issue is that the steering wheel gets hard to turn when making a turn or u turn. It has happened many times as I am driving. One time is almost made me crash into a car. I have taken it to two mechanics and it has engine and transmission codes. For just the transmission codes it will cost me up to $4,000. According to the carfax records it has had internal transmission repairs at 53,543 miles. I feel like this car post a safety issue because of the steering wheel problem. We have had this car for 3years and we have experienced many problems with it. Gm should pay for this faulty parts.

Driving up on the hill the car jerked and shakes. Passenger feels it. It's displaying service brake system just under a year after it was done. It's now displaying, stabilitytrak and control traction. After stopping for a red light upon the departure the car shakes and jerks. When it rains real hard, I have a leak on the passenger door. I feel like the car falls apart light after light. Some people says its transmission.

The driver side floor board always has a wet spot when it rains. The rear speakers do not work. The passenger window cannot be operated by the drivers side. The rear window wiper fluid will intermittently work if the vehicle is in park with the left turn signal on.

At 80,000 miles transmission went out and had to be rebuilt. Car is also leaking under the passenger and driver floor board and moon roof/sunroof drips down from dome lights onto third row seats. Leaking has caused multiple electrical problems. When there is a heavy rain ignition will still run even after key is turned off and key is out of ignition car is currently at 130,000. Also ignition will power down even while care is in motion warning light will illuminate stating "engine power reduced" "traction control off" and vehicle will not move. Car has had more problems than any other I have owned, will never purchase another gm vehicle.

Upon entering the highway the 2007 Acadia would not shift either into or out of 3rd gear, I'm not sure. I could not tell what was happening and when I determined this was not going to correct itself I exited the highway. I've recieved a letter from gm stating that vehicles equiped with 6t70 and 6t75 6 speed automatic transmissions are experiencing cracked or fractured wave plates. This clearly is a faulty part as it is occurring on many versions of this vehicle and has been upgraded. I was lucky in that it was only me in the auto and not the entire family when this happened. Very dangerous.

While traveling down highway, car displays message "service stabilitrack engine power reduced". Car slows down and shakes. Turning car off for a few minutes then turning back on clears issue, however, happens multiple times daily. Very dangerous while traveling on highways or freeways.

I was coming home with my five children when getting close to home my truck just would not go over 10 mph I would pull over for cars behind me to pass after I tried turning it off and restarting but it would do the same glad I was close to home that I was able to get their. I got home shut the truck off and tried to turn back on and it wouldn't I have been told that it was a sensor and replaced it and it still didn't work know I have been told that it is the motor that is bad it is embarrassing to have a truck in your driveway that you have not been able to use and still owe have the amount of what it was sold to us. They also told me that this was common on 2007 because of the faulty motor that was put into them as I read some of the reviews it should be considered as a recall because of the price these trucks go for new or used suppose ably it is a high quality vehicle and its sad that their is so many bad reviews and nothing has been done to help all the people who are having this issue as gm knows this isn't something you can say I will get it fixed right away you are talking thousands of dollars for repairs.

Bought this vehicle in 2010 with 89000 miles in 2013 timing chains went out took to GMC dealer and even though this was a recall about the timing chains cardinal in hazard ky would not fix this recall because they said if the vehicle had over 120000 miles the recall was expired. . So timing chains go out and I read from this site the recalls never expire ?? no the vehicle has major problems.

I'm having chronic transmission problems I've spent &2000. So far on the transmission. The GMC dealer has been constantly telling me I'm having multiple issues regarding the total wave plate of the transmission, which is effecting other areas of the care. Now I'm being told that my transmission was a lemon-make. That it was built faulty & GMC knows it. They have had thousands of complaints and refuse to recall this transmission. This is totally unfair. I still owe 18,000 on this truck. I'm paying two mortgages and I'm worried about how I will make it to work the next day. The maker of this truck should be held responsible for the faults not the consumer. Do to this issue gm issued an exchange program but the dealer ships won't engage in this. Please assist me with this issue.

Vehicle is hard shifting from 1st to 2nd gear. Had serviced with new transmission fluid on 7/2/13. On 7/5/13 vehicle would no longer shift at all while traveling on the freeway on our way to family vacation to hilton head SC. It was towed to parks Chevrolet in charlotte, nc where transmission was disassembled with parts replaced and rebuilt. Upon departure of pickup vehicle is still shifting hard from 1st to 2nd gear (around 20-25mph) and we hope to make back home to ohio safely. I've researched this issue is common in GMC Acadias. Issues needs addressed and resolved for safety! I will be returning the vehicle to chevy dealer when we return home for further service. We have already paid the warranty deductible and hope to not incur more expenses!.

On Monday, with my children in the car, I started noticing that the car was not shifting correctly. I did not think much about it. Then on the wed of that week as I was driving in a major city downtown area for the morning commute, the engine light came on. . . I was at a stop tried to accelorate and the rpm's reved. Stepped on the gas and the car would only go 1 to 2 miles an hour then speed up . . . Dealer said that there were "many parts in the pan" and that I needed to have transmission replaced. $3600 plus tax or have it rebuilt $3300 plus tax. Called gm after reading the various post on edmunds about the Acadia problems. They were very nice and opened a claim but as of yet, no one ever called me back. When they opened the claim they said someone would be in touch within 2 business days (and they would see what they could do on saving me some money on the bill) as I was due back at the dealership to pick up my car.

Transmission failure due to faulty factory issued wave plate. This should have been a recall as gm appears to be very aware of this problem in most early year model Acadias. The price tag alone is $4,000+. . . Not to mention a rental car and making payments on an undrivable vehicle while it sits for who knows how long since the transmission is on national back order because its such a common problem.

Car will not accelerate, engine just revs and rpms increase to 5000+ when attampting to change from third to fourth gear. Thankfully, I was on a road less traveled and did not get smashed in the back with my son in the back seat on the highway. What a safety hazard!.

Engine light on vehicle, the vehicle will not shift into gear - happened three times had to pull off side of road to not get hit from other vehicles and 5 year old was also in car with me. Had to shut off the car multiple times to get started again and for it to finally shift into gears. Took car to dealer and they replaced transmission control module valve. On 4/1/13 car would not go into reverse on incline. Had to drive forward and reverse on flat area, dealer now says they found broken wave plate and burned 3-5 reverse clutch. Also found internal defect park of valve body. Car is only 5 years old and has only 55 thousand miles on it. Saw other issues on this database all with broken wave plates on 07 Acadias. Paid thousands of dollars to get this fixed.

Vehicle has about 50,000 miles but a few months out of warranty and started giving me problem shifting gear. Researched the problem and found a lot of similar complaints out there but gm is refusing to take responsibility and making owners pay to fix the problem. Transmission is defective.

Manufacturer defect to transmission.

Transmission went completely out while driving on I-79 4 hours from home, while driving the speed limit of 60-65mph, had to push car out of road, towed car to a dealership that we did not know, was told the transmission was completely gone and had to be replaced at a replacement cost of $3600. Had to rent a car to get back home in which cost $275. 00, went looking into this matter found over 90 pages of complaints on edmunds. Com.

My transmission went out after 58,000 miles and 5 years and 5 months. So I am over my warranty by 5 months and am out $3300. In doing some research, there seems be an abnormally high incident of transmission failures on the 2007 GMC Acadia. Some bloggers indicate that the Acadia models have big issues before the 2010 model. Is there a systematic issue that GMC needs to address or am I just unlucky?.

Vehicle. Would not shift out of first gear. Would get to almost 5 rpm before it finally shifted. When it did shift out, it shifted hard. Problemed started in August 2012 after we purchased and her it is July 2015. Dealership said they can't find anything wrong. The gas peddle did get stuck one time when the vehicle. Wouldn't shift out. Now my parking break has a leak and is always saying that the break is on.

Basically bottom line is this is the 4th major thing I've had my Acadia in the shop for. This repair of a rebuilt transmission is costing me 3500. 00 out of my pocket. Supposedly the gm customer rep does not think there is anything they can do for me because my car is 5 years old and 131000 miles. . That is just bs!!!!! I spent 40,000. 00 on this car to drive it longer than this and for all the things to start nickel and dimming me is ridiculous. The mechanic at the gm certified garage told me that gm used a prt in the transmission on the 07-10 models of the Acadia that cost them 1. 69 and that they know they should have used a part that cost them 39. 00, so this is the part that is breaking in the transmissions and making them junk and having to be rebuilt or new ones put it. . Gm didn't want to recall the 07-10 models because it would have affected millions of cars, so they are just letting the owners suffer for their stupidity and lack of responsibility. My biggest complaint after the money is the fact the my child was driving my vehicle when this happened, he was panicked as he could not go over 30mph on a very busy road and the vehicle started to shut down on him!! he is very lucky the vehicle made it to a safe place and he was not rear ended as the car just stopped on him!!! really gm when are you going to recall these models and make it right for all of us that have to encounter such a high expense?? I really can not afford another vehicle or the $3500. 00 to repair this one, but that is my only choice!!!!.

My transmission has to be replaced at 131,000 miles and a cost of over $3400. 00 out of my pocket. Well here I am again. . . This is the third major thing that has happened to my 2007 Acadia. . I had to have all new timing chains put on 103,000 miles, had to have my service tire sensor fixed at 112,000 miles, I have done all the re-calls for the sun-roof leak, the heated windshield fluid, and whatever else hs been re-called on this vehicle!!! my 17 year old son was driving my car in heavy traffic on a major highway when the car just stopped and then he could only get it to go 30 mph. He is lucky he was not rear ended. I took it to the dealer, it will not go over 30 mph and reverse. I spoke with the head mechanic at the gm garage that is putting a new transmission in my Acadia at the cost of 3400. 00 to me, and he told me that all the 2007-2010 Acadia's have a part in the transmission that cost gm $1. 69 instead of using the part they should have used that would have cost them $39. 00. He said gm know they should have recalled all the 2070-2010 Acadia's but chose not too because it would have been millions of vehicles involved, so instead "thank you gm" for screwing all of us and now we have to pay for your mistake and cut backs. . . .

Transmission slipping jerks and bumps when shifting. Passengers noted there was issues also. Loses power going up hills. Took it to cochran pontiac for two years and did not correct situation, since there were no codes on the computer even though the car had no power and was jerking. Engine light, antilock braking, no rear sensors, and the fuel guage lights are now on after another dealer fixed transmission and I had to pay $1,500 and I should have not paid anything. I did not have these lights on my dash board when I went to get the transmission fixed and the dealer has not fixed them. Recently, my car lost power and died on a blind dangerous curve and shut down the engine. I was afraid to get hit and felt my car was unsafe. We put gas in and would not start and engine was hot. I had to have it towed to dealer after two weeks from getting the transmission repaired and told dealer transmission has noises in it and engine was hot and car would not start. They called and said it was out of gas and runs now, however, they did not address the issues noted above for all of the lights that were on the dash board. The gas was not the issue before car was towed since we put gas in there when it broke down. This 2007 Acadia has had issues since 2011 that continue to present and this SUV is known to have many recalls and is unsafe. The car was taken to the dealer numerous times with complaints by the customer.

I have had several problems with this vehicle. The washer fluid light is always on, no matter how many times I have taken it for repair the power steering went out 8 months after the vehicle three months later at this present time. After having the vehicle for not even a year, the transmission has given out beyond repair. I have gotten several different people to look at it, its beyond repair (rebuild). I have done a lot of research and found that many people have had the same problems I really hope this helps, I don't think the customers should be responsible for the repair of this constant problem.
