The contact owns a 2010 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that he attempted to start the vehicle but it would not because the battery was dead. The contact attempted to have the vehicle jump started but to no avail. The vehicle was taken to a mechanic for inspection where they jumped the battery for a third time. The vehicle was then taken to the dealer for inspection and they stated that the drain that was connected to the sunroof became clogged and dripped onto the fuse box. As a result, the fuse box shortened and drained the battery. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified but they did not provide any assistance. The failure mileage was 31,000.
The battery on my GMC Acadia died on the 15th February and the dealer could not identify anything wrong with the vehicle. The following Monday the service air bag light came on and I was told the sensor was not working right and the parts were ordered. The Friday of 2/26 the check engine light was on and the vehicle would not accelerate above 50mph and half the gas tank was emptied in 25 miles. During that Friday the engine was still running even after I pulled the key out of the ignition. That same night the battery died and could not be jump started. The vehicle was inspected on 3/1 and the air bag sensors along with fuse box was replaced as water was leaking into the fuse box. All of this happened in the mileage range of 6800 to 7100 approximately. The dealer has replaced the fuse box and the vehicle is running fine so far.
