When I make turns, it loses power steering, then comes back after the turn is completed.
Vehicle will intermittently lose power steering when making turns (already had close call when I couldn't complete left turn and went into on coming traffic ) vehicle was dropped off at sierra Chevrolet in monrovia. Problem not covered and would have to pay $1,700.
When pulling into parking lot at low speeds, the vehicle loses power steering and will not turn almost causing an accident. It has also happened in the middle of an intersection when turning when it loses power steering. This is a dangerous issue and needs a recall.
The Acadia loses power steering at slow speeds. Turning into parking spots, backing up and similar slow moving maneuvers make it very difficult to turn the car. I have not located my model listed on the recall list and I want you to be aware that it is also having a power steering problem. I am waiting for a loaner car to take my car into the dealer for repair.
While driving I lose power steering, whether it's 10 miles per hour or 50 miles per hour. Difficult to turn while driving. It seems to have gotten worse over the last few months and the power steering makes a noise while moving the steering wheel.
Since approximately September 2013 my 2010 GMC Acadia has lost power steering at slow speeds while turning and parking. This problem has continued to get worse over the course of the following months up until present day. At first it was intermittent, and now every time I am parking or making sharp turns the power steering fails. There have been numerous occasions where I almost hit another car because I could not turn the wheel properly. My husband has hit a pole because of this problem, because he could not turn the steering wheel to avoid the object. We have replaced the power steering fluid, and this did not correct the problem. I have not taken it to the dealer because my research shows that this problem has not been identified specifically for exact repairs. I cannot afford to repeatedly take my vehicle to the dealer when they don't even know how to fix this problem. I hope general motors receives enough complaints to recall this problem before somebody gets into a serious accident. It is just a matter of time before this causes a catastrophic accident for someone, which I pray does not happen.
When I was making a right hand turn at a green light the car acted like I lost my power steering. I really had to fight the wheel so I didn't hit another car. This happens randomly about twice a month. Sometimes it happens when I make a left turn. Sometimes it happens when pulling into a parking spot. I have had so many close calls of hitting other cars that I try not to drive it unless absolutely necessary.
The vehicle intermittently loses power steering which makes turning the vehicle very difficult. This initially began happening at very low speeds like when turning into a parking space or entering/exiting our garage. Lately it's begun to occur at higher speeds such as when making turns on roadways. This loss of power steering at higher speeds is a much more dangerous situation as it increases the probability of a crash. This particular issue appears to be a common complaint amongst Acadia owners.
