First, 2 days after we purchased the car, the engine light came on. Then the front camera needed service and the side warnings stopped. Then the seat heaters quit. The fobs both quit working, would. It properly unlock the doors. We got an airbag needs service warning. A check gages warning. A service tire monitoring system warning. Finally, the engine locks up and won't start, turn over, or anything. Several hours later, the car starts. Then it goes through the whole cycle again over the next few weeks til it doesn't start again and leaves us stranded. Again. The first time, the mcdaniel GMC service department changed out the battery and believed that would fix it. We paid $190 for that. It didn't work. It went through the same cycle again within a month. Now they expect us to pay to have he module fixed, even though they knew there was a recall for it when hey sold it to us.
The gears sometimes does a hard push when changing gears automatically. The dashboard light keeps turning off and driver can not see the speedomotor etc.
About a month ago my car started losing power when driving. It often happens when entering or exiting the highway. The last time it happened was yesterday on the highway off ramp. The car loses power and a message comes on saying service stabilitrak traction control off engine power reduced, the engine idles rough and I cannot get back up to speed. I have to stop the car completely, turn it off and wait 20-30 seconds then turn it back on. I have taken the twice to the dealer and they cannot find a problem.
The fuel gauge drops to e when you still have approx 1/4 tank of fuel. There was recall for this but it seems it does not cover my vehicle by VIN.
There is a known problem with the control modules for the driver safety/assist systems and gm sent a letter indicating that they would repair vehicles that met a certain mileage and age criteria. My vehicle did not meet these criteria. The fault drained my battery and I had to have it replaced and the dealer indicated it could be $5000 to fix all the other issues associated with the faulty control modules. As a result, my wife has now has no blind spot monitoring/indicator, the forward/rear crash monitoring/alert system doesn't function and all of the the other proximity/safety systems don't function either. In addition, other electrical issues are now starting to surface and the garage door opener no longer functions. I am scared that this may lead to a serious electrical malfunction, short, or fire that could cause a serious safety issue. As a result, I recently purchased a new vehicle for her but I am now driving the impacted vehicle.
Tl the contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the side detection system activated every time the vehicle was started. Also, "service side detection system" illuminated on the message center. In addition, the turn signals did not operate internally, only externally. The vehicle was taken to beardmore Chevrolet (418 fort crook rd. N, bellevue, ne 68005) where it was diagnosed that there was a harness that failed and needed replacement. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was advised that the vehicle exceeded the mileage to qualify for the extended warranty under bulletin number: 16-na-178 (electrical system). The vehicle was repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 91,000.
While driving, the stabilitrak service message came on, then tracktion control displayed. The car then stalled, while doing 70 on the freeway. Almost got killed trying to get to the right lane. Had to turn off ignition (and open the door to kill the electrical circuit) to reset the car to drive it. The car also does this at idle. It will randomly mis-shift and feel like a chain was hooked to my bumper and broke off. Super scary, life in danger for sure. This has happened 3 times in the last 24 hours. I just bought the car 5 days ago.
The service air bag soon light is on and the car only has 74,000 miles and has never been in a wreck. This is the same issue that there was a recall for earlier model year Acadias up to 2013 and it is widely reported that the 2014s have the same issue; that the connector has to be resoldered for the airbags to deploy. This is a known safety issue to GMC and they are charging approximately $400 to fix a known safety issue. Now I'm going to have to pay $400 to get this fixed because it is not an included recall on the 2014s and I don't want my wife driving a car without airbags.
Takata recall my vehicle is experiencing total system electrical failing, it started with a rear collision module and now it is other system like; airbag lights, windshield wipers, blingers, radio, etc. I have read that this is a common problem but no recall, we need help!.
There is a water leak every time it rains. Once I could not shut off my car had to take it to the dealership. Said the drain line for sunroof had debri and water was sitting on fuse box. Water leaks in floor board. Yesterday, there is no sound in vehicle at all (no radio no blinking noise when blinker is turned on. ).

I have had the same problem for 3 years now and have taken my vehicle to a gm dealership many times for the same issue and it is definitely an issue . My car keeps throwing up tcm issue and ecm and I have asked for the modules to be checked. I have reasearched these issues and it seems to be the same with many vehicles like mine so that should be a red flag. My car will slow down, power reduce engine, traction control off, and my steering will be difficult and sometimes I can’t even get off the road in time, which is very dangerous. I have seen recalls on electrical issues and wonder if my vehicle has damaged recall parts. I am a single mother who has to work and get my child to school and can’t do so properly with my vehicle doing this all the time. It’s very frustrating.
The module for the side blind zone alert notification system, back up camera, tvs/dvd's quite working after it went through the car wash. When taken to the mechanic it was said it module was filled with water. Attempted to have this address in April of 2019 and now other things are getting worse! side mirror lights always on.
Side blind zone alert feature is not working. This appears to be a common failure due to either defective sensors or module. Estimated cost to repair is over $800.
"takata recall" on Tuesday June 19 I had pulled into my driveway just before my garage with my two small children. I put the car in park and got out to unload and prepare to transfer my one kid and then the other. It was 100 degree weather so had to keep the car running. After a minute or so being in park, my car began to drive forward with no one behind the wheel. My car drove off my retaining wall and landed vertically with my children suspended in their car seats. Emergency officials responded. I have video and will hold off fixing the damage of vehicle so that the feds can investigate. GMC also would like to take a look at it. Please let me know where to submit my security footage.
Side blind zone alert module failure. Side blind zone alert is intended to signal the driver of objects in the blind spot when changing lanes. This 2014 Acadia has a malfunctioning module, resulting in the alert light remaining on in the side view mirror. There is also an error message in the instrument panel. Gm refuses to apply existing n172097060 special coverage adjustment to this vehicle, despite meeting the make, model, year, and specific problem related to the module.

Side collision lights in mirrors came on solid amber, and computer message stated to service side collision system, went to GMC dealer , they had to replace two modules located under rear bumper, part # 22960672, $243. 39 each. Dealer stated cause was water damage, 12 days out of warranty and only 21000, miles on vehicle. Dealer would not cover under warranty, stated recall for problem but no longer in effect, this is unacceptable for a car this new. Called GMC,they stated. They would not cover due to the fact I paid for repair. Explained I thought this was a safety issue and needed to be fixed to drive. GMC denied claim.
Fuel gage continuously shows full then a few mins later empty even after filling up take, gage shoes tire levels in accurately, lights will flicker and won't shut off after turned off completely, driver seat continues to wiggle loose even after tightening back over and over, when vehicle isn't sitting in park on after about 30minutes or so it will begin to shake, sputter then finally stall reguardless of accelerating to restart it will still stalk when driving for awhile the vehicle will randomly jerk forward while driving and feel like it loses power while driving as well even after I took it to a certified mechanic and having a sensor changed(which a diagnostic test indicated was wrong) along with an oil change we also noticed that the recalls that were listed prior to us purchasing the vehicle should've been addressed weren't we notified the dealership they said they'd look at those recalls from then but we would have to pay for them at our own cost and that the recalls and issue sales we had talked about weren't listed so at this point we're unable to take the family vehicle too far from home considering we live 30 mins outside of tucson, we have four kids and my husband is a disabled veteran we even stated to the dealership we needed a dependable vehicle thank you for your time.
Vehicle was stationary and in motion display read airbag malfunction warning light. Took vehicle to randy marion GMC in huntersville, nc to be fixed. Electrical connecter problem "due to corrosion " was "fixed" only to have error light come on again 24hrs later. This is a new vehicle with only 24,000 miles on it and is garage kept. Randy marion gave is a loaner vehicle and was going to order new connectors for the airbag. We dropped truck off on Saturday, December 12th and finally had it returned to us the following Friday afternoon, December 18th "fixed again. " this morning, driving family to the store, my father-in-law said that his seat was not stable. We discovered seat was not bolted down and returned truck back to randy marion Buick-GMC. Service manager apologized and said it was an oversight and not bolting the seat back down. Waiting to get our truck back in working a safe condition. Terrible!!!.
Car was parked in driveway, doors shut, key in ignition. Approached car to get in (possibly touched the door handle) and car beeped and locked itself with keys inside. This is the second incident. The first happened several months prior in dealership when car was being serviced.

The approximately failure mileage was 20,079. Kc.
My fuel gauge occasionally registers as empty even after I fill the gas tank. This typical happens if I let the fuel go below 1/4 tank. This has happened since the first 30,000 miles and I was told by the dealership there was no recall or safety alert for this condition. It gradually goes up as I drive. It is my understanding this is a common problem with this vehicle and model year.

Bought car brand new 8-14. Since I have taken into dealership over 5 times regarding it stalling, and complete shut down while driving. First car would shut off when in reverse. Car turned off completely multiple times sitting at red lights. Then while I was driving 35 miles on residential street I had complete failure, car turned off. Was able to restart and drive. Car takes a couple seconds to turn over when first putting key in. Noticed recall in 10-14 for exact issue but GMC dealer in concord CA says my car is not included in it. Interior lights go on at random along with headlights. Gas gauge in "miles" reading on dash lowers by 20+ miles each time I drop kids off at school 5 miles away. Each time I have taken it to dealer, dealer stated they are unable to duplicate the events, no warning codes are showing and they can not find what's wrong with the car. Shocker. Brand new cars do not operate this way and these issues are very serious as deaths could occur when car shuts down while driving. Taking it to dealer again.
Since the day I drove my Acadia off the lot there has been a "click" that occurs which sounds like it is coming from the engine that can be felt under the gas pedal when the vehicle is about to shift into 2nd gear, but only immediately after starting the vehicle and never again when switching between 1st and 2nd gear until it has been turned off and restarted. The noise it makes sounds like a marble rolling on a wooden floor for about 1-2 seconds and then click and then the gear shifts. The dealer said they didn't hear anything but I do as well as other passengers do every day. Additionally, when turning the vehicle at a slow rate of speed and then accelerating, the engine slams into gear when between 10-15 mph but only after a turn and an attempt at acceleration. Also, my Acadia is not a vehicle under the "faulty gas gauge" recall however once my vehicle is below 1/4 tank the needle on the gas gauge will jump from 1/8 tank to 1/16, back up to 1/8 of a tank all while driving on flat roadways. Concurrently, the range for the fuel on the digital screen goes from 95 to 58 to 72 all while driving with cruise control on at a consistent speed. Lastly, the vehicle has the denali grill which leaves minimal airflow from the engine compartment. Up to three hours after turning the vehicle off (in a cool garage) you can still feel the heat coming from the engine compartment if you place your hand in front of the grill. Could this be a possible fire hazard? all of these issues began when I purchased the vehicle with 60 miles on it and continue now at 15,500 miles. I drive frequently and can tell you that I do not feel safe in my vehicle but am unsure what to do as the dealer has told me there is nothing wrong with it. The only recall for my vehicle is the seatbelt issue but I think there are serious engine problems with this vehicle that need to be addressed by gm.
My Acadia has forward collision warning system and has not ever worked to provide any warning at any speed or under any conditions. I had a GMC terrain with the same system and it operated as defined in every circumstance. The Acadia ,could literally be driven into another vehicle at any speed without any warning from the collision system.
The contact owns a 2014 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that the air conditioning function failed to work properly and there was extreme heat due to the failure. The vehicle was taken to two dealers: (1) 1st liberty GMC in peoria, az and (2) desert sun GMC in alamo gordo, nm. The first dealer noticed a leak, replaced a line, recharged the system, but the failure continued months later. The vehicle was taken back to the first dealer who repeated the same solution, which provided no remedy as the hot air continued to emit from the air conditioner. The vehicle was taken to the second dealer for further diagnostic testing. The contact was uncertain if the manufacturer would be able to provide a solution to the dealer to repair. The manufacturer was to follow up with a response within 48 hrs and the contact was waiting for a solution. The failure mileage was not available.
