general problems of the 2014 GMC Acadia

Gas gauge is incorrect. When I put fuel in the tank within min gauge drops to empty. Car sputters when idling. Car stalled 10x or more. Fuel pump has been replaced. Fuel pump module has been replaced. Did not fix the problem.

Fuel gauge is incorrect. It says I went 20 miles when I only went two. Then when car is in park the gauge goes back up but when moving the gauge goes down quickly. This had caused me to run out of gas when I shouldn’t have and it’s adding miles to my odometer that I never went or it’s fluctuating and that’s faulty. I have many problems with this vehicle, numerous times. Inaccurate fuel gauge reading- it has resulted in my vehicle running out of fuel and stalling, while on road. I have 4 children who are at risk of danger while in vehicle. The fuel warning light has illuminated when the gauge needle says I still have more than plenty of amount (a quarter of a tank or more at times. It differs). It was diagnosed with an electrical and fuel system failure. Electrical shorts and problems- having electrical shorts on and off. Check engine light comes on/off vehicle randomly failed to start. My vehicle was difficult to start and would require several attempts before starting. Power lock/unlock key fob doesn't work, replaced battery multiple times. Windows and sunroof power windows do no work. Radio and dash turn off and restart. Check airbag light has been coming on and off. Power train intermittently, the transmission shifts with a loud thump, at various speeds. Vehicle starts shaking and jerking while shifting gears and going different speeds. My vehicle slows down, power reduce engine and steering difficult at times. Other/ water leak- found water in all of my tail light assemblies, headlight assemblies, sunroof and windows leaking. There is no proper seal or has worn off, causing leaks in and repairs for many replacements, which are expensive temp fixes with no permanent solution. Causes accidents by not having necessary working equipment for driving conditions. Other:hood doesn't latch and stay open so difficult to even check fluids properly alone. Multiple dealers have inspected problems, and needs to be fixed. There are recalls out for many of these problems and my vehicle needs to be on the list for serious safety issues.

Fuel gage incorrect. Parked at work with a third of a tank of gas, when I left work later that day it said I was on empty. Got to closest gas station and put in $20. Gauge told me I had half a tank but it takes $70 to fill the tank, so there is no way $20 would give that. Then I drove about mile to my parents house and while sitting in the drive way the gauge now said I had over half a tank. Then I drove 4 miles home and the range went from 162 miles to 134. Called dealer regarding the recall bulletin 14007b and was told my car wasnt part of it even though it is a 2014 GMC Acadia and is having the issues described in the bulletin.

The fuel tank gauge ES do not read probably when on a fourth take when driven less then a mile it read empty.

Gas gauge does not read accurately. We have ran out of gas one time due to this issue, resulting with us stalling in the middle of a busy street. Now that that has occurred gas is put into the tank every few days but gas gauge still only registers 1/4 of tank to “low range”. Multiple occasions!.

My wife was driving at highway speeds (70mph) on the interstate in chicago when without warning her cluster lights appeared and her vehicle lost propulsion (stalled, stall, died). She had no warning and the area had no shoulder for her to pull off into so she had to come to a complete stop in the right lane of the highway. People are doing speeds well above 70mph, I would hate to think of what could have happened if a person or line of vehicles could not change lanes in time; very serious injuries and possibly death for all invovled. Fortunatly, she had the sense to put the car in park (highway lane) and completed a key cycle thus restarting the vehicle and then obviously accelerating quickly to get out of harms way. As people are swirving out of her lane and honking at her. I put our VIN into the NHTSA site and see the vehicle has no outstanding recalls. Then I search just the model year and come across a recall (14v-614, gm recall number 14515) that appears to be the same issue we may have had. In the vehicle information section of the 573 it lists: descriptive information : 2014 GMC Acadia production dates : Jun 27, 2013 - Sep 26, 2013 plugging my VIN into a VIN decoder, I see that my vehicle was built July 26, 2013; this falls within the suspect time of this recall. Why have I not been notified of this recall? why is the NHTSA tool not show my vehicle as being affected? this could have been a very a tragic ending. I hope you (NHTSA) reach out directly to gm to figure out why my vehicle was not included in the recall. Why my wife was put in harms way.

The vehicle shuts down without warning at various speeds. From 5mph-70mph. This happens erratically and without warning. It results in an immediate loss off all power.

Fuel gage continuously shows full then a few mins later empty even after filling up take, gage shoes tire levels in accurately, lights will flicker and won't shut off after turned off completely, driver seat continues to wiggle loose even after tightening back over and over, when vehicle isn't sitting in park on after about 30minutes or so it will begin to shake, sputter then finally stall reguardless of accelerating to restart it will still stalk when driving for awhile the vehicle will randomly jerk forward while driving and feel like it loses power while driving as well even after I took it to a certified mechanic and having a sensor changed(which a diagnostic test indicated was wrong) along with an oil change we also noticed that the recalls that were listed prior to us purchasing the vehicle should've been addressed weren't we notified the dealership they said they'd look at those recalls from then but we would have to pay for them at our own cost and that the recalls and issue sales we had talked about weren't listed so at this point we're unable to take the family vehicle too far from home considering we live 30 mins outside of tucson, we have four kids and my husband is a disabled veteran we even stated to the dealership we needed a dependable vehicle thank you for your time.

I was driving at roughly fifty mph when engine shutoff and put vehicle into neutral to pullover avoiding rear end crash by semi truck I attempted to start vehicle but vehicle engine locked without any warning I called dealer and towed into service and it was something internal in engine and told to wait for more info.

Bought car brand new 8-14. Since I have taken into dealership over 5 times regarding it stalling, and complete shut down while driving. First car would shut off when in reverse. Car turned off completely multiple times sitting at red lights. Then while I was driving 35 miles on residential street I had complete failure, car turned off. Was able to restart and drive. Car takes a couple seconds to turn over when first putting key in. Noticed recall in 10-14 for exact issue but GMC dealer in concord CA says my car is not included in it. Interior lights go on at random along with headlights. Gas gauge in "miles" reading on dash lowers by 20+ miles each time I drop kids off at school 5 miles away. Each time I have taken it to dealer, dealer stated they are unable to duplicate the events, no warning codes are showing and they can not find what's wrong with the car. Shocker. Brand new cars do not operate this way and these issues are very serious as deaths could occur when car shuts down while driving. Taking it to dealer again.
