My car has less than 8,000 miles currently. On June 5, I started my car and lights were on saying I needed service and maintenance. I believe it was around 4500 miles at the time. I took it in once, where I bought my car, they said it just needed an update. The next day, all of the same lights were on. Turns out, I need a new brake master cylinder. It’s on back order. I bought this car in April. It’s been in the shop for a month. This is ridiculous. - the notifications said I needed electronic stability control and service brake assist maintenance.
After having my 2025 GMC Acadia elevation for 2 weeks, I turned it on and six lights on the dash lit up. Esc, abs, tractions control and more. I was leaving a store at the time this happened and drove home. Also, my cruise control would no longer work. Took my Acadia to the dealership the following business day to be serviced, only to be told a week later that the master brake cylinder needed replaced. This part of course was on back order. My new part arrived two weeks later, only to discover that two additional one-time parts (seal and reservoir) are now needed. These parts are also on back order with an estimated ship date of mid to late July.
I was driving along [xxx] . I stopped at walmart and shopped for about 2 hours. I was leaving walmart and was stopped at a red light at the exit from walmart [xxx] and traction control light comes on and a message came up and stated traction control off and to service stability control and the vehicle loses power right at the light. I checked everything I could and dis connect the battery for about 30 minutes and connected the battery back up vehicle still would not start. After sitting there for 3 hours the vehicle starts up. A week later the same thing happens again. I had to go through all the steps again so after a couple of hours. The vehicle started up. A few days later it happens shin but this time I'm at a stop sign on a busy road. I called road side service for a tow. No one showed up so I went through ll those same steps of disconnecting the battery and hooking it back up after a couple of hours and it stated up. I drove it home and started doing some research and found something saying to change the brake pedal position sensor so I done that and it worked for a few days and started doing the same thing all over again. S week later I drive it to the store and got almost home and the vehicle shut down again and would not start back up. I had it towed to my uncle shop nd he done a diagnostic on it and got about 4 or 5 codes. All of those things are very expensive to purchase. I just ran the VIN to check for recalls on the vehicle but couldn't find any but it should have been a lot of recalls because there are so many of these vehicles the exact same model and year with trouble with stability control nd brake and traction control issues. All the issues they hd on this car tht I have should not have been sold to anyone except the manufacturer. I wish I could just get my money back that I paid for it. $4700. 00 not included in the work I had done like the cv axles replace on both sides in the front. I have had my 2025 GMC Acadia denali for 1 week with 336 miles on it. When I went to start it on the evening of [xxx], I felt the brake pulse. Then the dash lite up with message to service esc. The brake icon was lite up red and abs was lite up yellow color. I took my vehicle to our local jeff fender GMC dealership the next morning. The service tech did a brake pressure test which passed. He cleared the codes. When I went out to leave the dealership, the codes came back on. The service tech said it is not safe to drive because my brakes can fail at anytime. Service said they need to replace the master cylinder. With this issue, my brakes could fail & a horrible crash could occur causing injuries and/or death. Service rep told me this has happened to a new yukon too. My husband called the dealership in lake city, FL, where we purchased the Acadia from & spoke to a service rep. He told my husband he has seen this in yukons, terrains & sierra pick up trucks. This brake issue with the master cylinder should be a recall due to the potential dangers of a horrible accident that can occur if the brakes fail. I was driving down the road and all the sudden my breaks locked up. Like I had to stand on the break with both feet for it to barely stop. After getting it to the repair shop they said my vacuum pump exploded. My problem is it’s very well taken care of car and absolutely no warning light was on. I had no warning at all just all the sudden wouldn’t stop. Now I’m 7,600 in the hole because of this and very upset my not even 5 year old car is having these problems.

The vehicle stalls when air start kicks on so when stopped auto stop kick on and when your ready to go the go stalls to turn back on. I have also lost power to the car randomly. Power train issue on car keeps coming on with engine light. I have taken to dealer when car was under warranty and they were very dismissive to my issue. They changed some sensor under warranty and they said the issue was fixed. But the issue remains and it’s causing several issues to the car with also a fueling code to the engine light.

I have a 2018 GMC Acadia that is now displaying " shift to park " while the vehicle is in park. Upon extensive research I see GMC did issue a recall however, my particular VIN was not included. Its now displaying the error message which would lead me to believe it is part of the recall. I called my local GMC dealership (langhorne, PA. ) and they said this was not covered since my VIN was not issues a recall.
It's a problem that occurs when my Acadia fails to recognize that the gear shifter is in the park position. As a result, the car doesn't fully shut down, leaving the engine running. Unable to shut down vehicle if shift doesn't fully activate brake notice, and could be a safety issue if it truly doesn't park. I have not taken the vehicle to a dealer or services to have the problem reproduced yet. It also has not been inspected yet, however, after doing research online, GMC did put a recall notifying owners that this may be a problem in vehicles from years 2017-2021. When I place the shifter into park, the car does not recognize it, and alerts me to put it into parking. It started appearing 2 months ago.
When pressing brakes to start the car the pedal goes all the way to the floor with little or no resistance. It has happened three times in 3 months. Took it to gm dealer after the first two incidents and they did a software update. Took it in again after the third incident and they did nothing.

Yes, my vehicle is available for inspection upon request. When I go to put my 2019 GMC Acadia in "park" the shifter states it is in park & the dashboard shows it in "p. " however, when I turn the vehicle off, an error message comes up reading "shift to park" and my car wont fully shut off. You can feel the car move forward or backwards a tiny bit (depending where vehicle is parked). This makes me have to turn the vehicle back on, shift into "drive," back into "park," and then shut the engine off and pray the "shift to park" display doesn't come up. This process was repeated this morning when I arrived at walmart 3x before it finally shut off, then when I got home it happened at least 8x before I could safely leave my car in my garage without the worry of it not truly being in park. This has gotten to the point I have bought wheel chalks to put around my car tires because I am afraid this vehicle could roll down my driveway into my neighbor's house or kill some kid playing in our culdesac. I let the last place I was at know & they told me GMC was aware of the issue, but that there was no way to fix it (auto revival in justin, TX). I am unsure as to whether this issue happened for them or not, as nothing was mentioned after being told GMC is aware. That was on January 10th, 2024. No one else has looked at it besides that. It seemed to be occurring less frequently for several months, and then now it is the worst it has ever been.
When the vehicle is in reverse and you are backing the emergency brake suddenly comes on practically giving you whiplash. This happens randomly and without any obstruction or reason for the emergency brake to come on. It has happened many times. This morning it slammed the emergency brake on 4 times in a row I didn't think I was going to be able to back up as it kept kicking the emergency brake on. Based on what I have seen on the internet many 2024 GMC Acadia owners are having similar problems. Gm needs to fix this!.
I was driving and making a left turn at a traffic light when all of a sudden, every light lit up on my dashboard. Then the dashboard turned completely black along with the radio screen. When the dashboard went black, I tried to stop by hitting the brakes to pull over. The brake pedal went all the way to the floor, and I had zero brakes. I was able to coast to a dirt shoulder where the vehicle stopped due to friction and gravity. The brakes never worked to aid in stopping the motion of my vehicle. I had my vehicle towed immediately to the dealership where I bought it.
The contact owns a 2017 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while coming to a stop, the contact heard a loud screeching sound when the brake pedal was depressed. There was no warning light illuminated. The contact inspected the vehicle and noticed that the brake pedal was very loose, and the brake pedal was going to the floorboard while depressed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer but was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 66,000.

This 2024 GMC Acadia will not back up safely on a rainy day. When moving backward, when it raining the emergency braking continually engage, approximately every two feet. I took it to gm dealer service center, it did the same with them. However, they can't correct the problem and gm does not have a fix. Also others vehicle like this one are experiencing the same problem. This has been an ongoing problem since July 5, 2024 in rainy weather. I called gm customer service and have gotten no result. I don't know what to do. Can you all help us (please). Thank you all so very much.
The contact owns a 2024 GMC Acadia. The contact stated there was an abnormal squeaking sound coming from the vehicle while depressing the brake pedal. There was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a dealer and the brake pads were replaced; however, the failure returned several days later after the repair. In addition, the contact stated that transmission fluid was leaking from the vehicle. The contact also stated that both taillights had failed to operate as needed and the message "check left rear turn lamp" and "check right rear turn lamp" messages were displayed a day apart. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer where the mechanic confirmed that there was a transmission fluid leak due to defective bolts. The dealer also replaced the rear taillights. The contact was also informed that there were no issues with the brakes, even though there was a noise coming from the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired and remained with the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 1,000.
I am filing a complaint about my 2024 GMC Acadia at4, leased brand new from frank's GMC in August 2024, now with a little over 8,000 miles. The brake pads are worn to 35% life, far below the expected 30,000-70,000 miles, with loud squealing, fluid leakage, and odors. This poses a severe safety risk to my family and others, as compromised brakes could fail. In October 2024, before my 3,000-mile oil change, I reported brake concerns to frank’s GMC service manager, javier, who advised waiting. After the November 2024 oil change and tire rotation, only three months after obtaining my vehicle, javier claimed no issues, despite my prior warnings. The problems worsened, with squealing, leakage, and odors persisting. My March 19, 2025, service appointment was delayed, calls ignored, and follow-ups never occurred. Sales manager khaled stated that owner frank confronted javier about avoiding service issues, yet no action was taken. I contacted ten GMC service departments in PA, CT, and MD; they reported similar at4 brake issues, some citing total brake failure. I spoke with gm corporate supervisors, who referred me back to the dealer. Frank’s GMC inspections overlooked my concerns. A local police department safety inspection unit confirmed the issues, but no manufacturer or insurance inspections occurred. The vehicle is available for inspection. I urge NHTSA to investigate this premature brake failure and ensure the 2024 Acadia at4’s safety. The email screenshot I included was sent in April. I contacted the same GMC dealerships that previously reported no issues to check for updates, and they confirmed a change. All of them now report the same problem with brake pads and/or brake failure. This issue is covered under warranty and should be replaced without issue, but dealers are not complying. If overlooked, this could become a national concern.
Last week I parked in a large public parking lot and attempted to turn my car off. I received a notification in my dash to “shift to park” even though my car was already in park. I was unable to turn the car off or lock the doors. I ended up having to leave. I have now gotten this message six times in the past week. It can take up to twenty minutes to get the car to turn off so I can exit. Yesterday upon returning to the car I showed an error message as soon as I started it that the parking brake needed service, stabilitrak is disabled and steering assist is disabled- drive with care. As I tried to exit the parking lot, I found it almost impossible to turn the steering week. I pulled over and restarted the car, releasing the steering wheel so I could get home. This morning, all of the service lights were on and periodic warnings flashed on my dash throughout my drive to work. I contacted the dealership and was told that there is a recall for this exact issue on the 2015-2018 models of my car. I have a 2019. This is certainly a dangerous issue that should be proactively fixed and is clearly still present in years that are not being included in the recall. I was told my car was one month past its warranty and told I could pay 250$ for the issue to be assessed and then they could quote me on a fix. The dealership acknowledged that this is an issue they regularly fix.
Front right brake hose was entangled around the front drive shaft and tore the brake line apart causing catastrophic brake failure. Car had only 19000 miles on the odometer odometer.
The vehicle will be in park, and a message will pop up saying "shift to park check and advise". Took my car into the dealer shop to get this fixed their response was the cause of the condition may be that the park switch in the transmission control (shifter) assembly is not pulling the bcm signal low to electronically show that the vehicle is in the park position.
All of this has been going on for a while but it's gotten to the point of dangerous. The shift to park keeps coming on preventing me from shutting the vehicle off even though it's, in fact, in park. Then, "steering assist reduced drive with care" keeps coming on. This will come on and off. Preventing the engine from heating up like it needs to be. Then the transmission keeps slipping. Was nearly rear-ended on the highway with my child in the car when it decided to start driving really rough and wouldn't allow me to shift to the next gear. This is also an ongoing issue. Another time I was almost hit in the side when this randomly happened on crossing the highway. This is absolutely absurd! I have had much older vehicles without all these issues with many many more miles! I can't count the amount of times this has caused us serious hazards not to mention almost costing me my job! interestingly enough, the same year/make/model has been recalled for the exact same issues yet for whatever reason GMC says my model "was not affected by the recall". Funny how it's having the exact same issues as the ones on the recall list! GMC needs to fix this before they cause people to die! I'm a healthcare worker and this is disgusting!.
2nd time ac compressor motor breaks and as is in line with the serpentine belt, all other systems including electrical and engine stop working. Poor engineering or other reason causing part to break down.

The car has parking brake on unable to disable. Have to put in drive force the system to move. Same with reversing the car. Air bags not working. Seat belt restraint on when we are wearing them. Left turn signal failure. Steering limited caution sign on. Esc sign on. Engine light on. Transmission unable to shift soon light on. Traction lights on. Abs brake light on. Temp says -40 degree when 30 out. I’m finding this unsafe to drive. Call GMC that told me to start on star diagnostic. Pull up at least 4 codes and today the transmission indicators came on. Not sure what to do. The car has low miles. But I have stopped driving as of today due to break down or serious malfunction while driving.
Vehicle will apply breaks abruptly on its own whenever it thinks a vehicle is too close. Was in traffic and it kept slamming on the breaks as I would try and move forward. Will slam on the breaks whenever I attempt to just slow down during the course of driving. Was on the highway and anytime I pressed the breaks to slow down, automatic breaks would slam down breaks on its own. Drove vehicle right to dealership as the was a major safety issue for me especially with my baby in the car.
Vehicle does not recognize that it's in park. Once parked a warning comes on telling you to shift to park. The vehicle does not completely shut off because it does not believe that it is in park.
1. - found water in the doors electrical connectors, the radio, alerts, blinkers sounds stops working and makes an electric short circuit sound. Informatic radio systems works on and off. 2. - break pedal with unusual play this make the stop lights turn on all the time and triggers the stabilitytrack system fails the car it’s like speeding up and down. 3. - the previous problem play in the break pedal triggers a transmission malfunction does not change gears and makes the engine loose power preventing a major damages but at same time it’s very dangerous while driving because we never know when it will happen the failure.

I have the shift to park error where my car is not recognizing that it is in park and will not shut off. I have been held hostage inside my car, late for work, etc because my car will not shut off because it is not registering that it’s in park. Also, my breaks are unbareably loud with whatever switch they made to the “new” brake material.
