Got onto the interstate and suddenly my car stopped but didn’t kill. My traction control light said off and then it said reduced engine power and my fuel went down to e. I couldn’t go but my car was still running. I killed it then waited a minute and started it again and it started moving slowly. Then it said service stabliltrak and traction system but since the light have went off. Around the same time I started hearing popping and crackling sounds from my speaker and now I have no interior sound at all just popping sounds no matter if my car is started or not. I’m scared it’s going to catch on fire or something.

I’m just reporting several known issues. First, with code p2138, which I got today at oreilly after my car started throwing warnings. I used my parking brake briefly and afterwards got the following warnings on my car: “steering assist is reduced, drive with care”, “engine power reduced” , “propulsion power is reduced” , “service parking brake”. I’ve never even had one of these warnings. I’ve only gotten “shift to park” which is another known & common issue. With this p2138 code, it can affect acceleration and essentially loss of control over it, but seems I suddenly have several issues. Recently the infotainment system is possessed, touch screen stops working, it calls people by itself, beeps and scrolls by itself and is essentially useless. Might as well be driving at 1997 something or other, at least I could play a tape or cd. This is denali trim at 87k miles. Primarily though I’m concerned with this code, if it’s legit, it is very dangerous. How unreliable and unsafe to not know.

The contact owns a 2018 GMC Acadia. The contact stated that while driving at 60 mph, the reduce engine power message was displayed. The rpm increased to high, and the engine revved. The accelerator pedal was depressed, but the vehicle failed to respond as needed. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 18v358000 (fuel system, gasoline). The vehicle was taken to the local dealer, where it was determined that the high-pressure fuel pump needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 98,000.

Im a travel nurse and I was working in vermont. As I was driving on the highway in new york on my way back home a shift to park light came on, a stabilitrak light came on, power steering light came on, abs light came on, and my check engine light also came on. My vehicle started slowing down as I was driving and my lights on my dashboard were turning on and off and my speedometer was not working. I was able to pull to the side off the highway so I could get out of harms way. I made a call to onstar for help and they asked to if I made it to a safe location. As the car was still on I was able to take the next exit and ended up in an auto zone parking lot. As I made it in the parking lot I turned the vehicle off but only the engine turned off but everything else stayed on and the shift to park light kept coming on when the vehicle was in park. I was in the parking lot for 3-4 hours freezing in my vehicle until onstar came to tow my vehicle. By the time onstar came my battery in my car had drained and it was a new battery. I was told that I would have to contact auto transport to transport my vehicle to louisiana at the dealership where the vehicle was purchased. I paid $1600 to transport my vehicle back home and I had to find a way to make it back to louisiana. I didn’t have a credit card so a friend of mine was able to rent me a vehicle to get home and I paid a total of $1700 on a rental because the dealership in louisiana couldn’t give me a time or date the vehicle would have been finished. I have been to the dealership 3 times now for the same problem in less than a week. I have paid $1500 altogether to fix damages on my car that I noticed other vehicles with the same make and model had the same issues. I never had a problem with my vehicle before everything just started happening all at once. I’m currently having to pay for car rentals to get to and from work and to make sure my kids get back and forth to school. My vehicle in at the dealership again for the 3rd t.

At 35-40 and 55-65 mph, the car slips/ pulls back. I took it to the dealer, my rep said it is a known issue and GMC issued a bulletin but will not recall it because it's too expensive. There are thousands of reports online. Please investigate.

Shortly after leasing the vehicle in December of 2022 I noticed the transmission would slip when accelerating. It also jumps when down shifting as I'm slowing down - as well as after place the car into drive. I did bring the vehicle back to GMC in early 2023 explaining the aforementioned. I was told that there was too much transmission fluid which was the causing the issues I was experiencing. They reduced the fluid levels and sent me on my way. Unfortunately their assessment and solution did not remedy the problem. I intend to bring the vehicle in again, but based on past experience, I will be told nothing is wrong. Lastly, I've done some research and it appears I'm not the only person experiencing the same issue. I'm hoping that reporting this issue will lead to an investigation of potential safety issues.

Special coverage adjustment n172097060 side blind zone alert module water intrusion was issued for my vehicle. I took it in to get fixed and was told I was past the 6 year extension (may 2022) but under the milage (79,199). They told me the parts are on back order from GMC. This was on 04-03-2023. On 04-05-2023 I was driving my vehicle and the instrument cluster went partially blank. I lost my speedometer , tachometer and most of the other gauges. I had numerous warning lights on. The blinkers stopped working and I had no control of any environmental controls or radio functions. I pulled off the side of the road and shut the vehicle off. I tried to restart it, it started but even more things began to fail electrically. I shut if off again, tried another restart and now it would not start. I tried multiple times and could not get it to start. With the car off and the key out of the ignition, the heater control panel would stay on and the fan was running. I tried a few more times and finally got it to run but still had no instrumentation. I was less than a mile from home and tried to make it back. While driving I had no electrical control of anything and no way to determine my speed. I made it back, but now my vehicle will not start at all. With the key out it still runs the heater controls and fan. This is a dangerous situation not being able to control your vehicle electrical systems and being able to start your vehicle. This needs to be a recall, not a manufacture " special coverage adjustment" that they know is a known issue and dont even have to parts to fix it.

“action required shift to park” indicator comes on when trying to park vehicle. Vehicle does not recognize that it is in park. Vehicle will continue to move a short distance before recognizing that it has been placed in park and then comes to an abrupt stop. Vehicle sometimes has to be shifted between drive and park several times before it will recognize that it is in park.
Today I encountered a problem with my vehicle that not only put myself at risk but my children. This problem came out of no where since I have not had any problems with my vehicle before today. When going to leave I turned my car on to have it stall and die. I had someone come out and look at it and got it to work by pushing down on the gas pedals. Said nothing looked wrong since there were no check engine light or any codes coming up on the dash. So I proceeded to leave and go get gas. When going to start my car again it stalled yet again and showed a check engine light. The car then started to smell like smoke and gas to where I immediately turned to car off and had my kids get out. I then tried to start my vehicle again and thankfully was able to get it to work with the check engine light showing. I called the car dealership that I go to for my oil to let them know I’m coming and that it stalled again with the check engine light showing. I made it to the shop and they ran diagnostics on it to show that it was a time change in the engine that was messing up. They then proceeded to let me know that I would have to go to a GMC shop because they can’t do the work at their shop. He then proceeded to tell me not to drive in this because the car will stall in motion and will not go faster than 45 without dying or shutting off. Which to me is a major safety concern since I have to drive it to the shops and let along home with my children in the car. So the whole way I couldn’t go over 45 without my car starting to stall and shake. Thankfully it didn’t shut down with my kids in the car on a main road.

The cruise control does not down-shift the vehicle early enough. It does not react for the first 6mph over set point and then when it downshifts it only downshifts one gear. The vehicle exceeded 10mph over set point on a 6% grade and brakes had to be engaged because manual limit did not perform as intended at the moment. This might have been ok in the 90s but all other cars I had handled this much better in last 15 years. The lane keep assist attempts to drive the car into oncoming traffic when there are road patches present in the lane.

Brand new vehicle purchased from dealer, at 8900 miles transmission slipped. Dealer has for 2 hours and couldn’t find problem, but replaced transmission fluid it was dark. At 9000 it happened again, they have vehicle and said the new transmission fluid is dark and muddy. Only 100 miles, so they determined they need to take apart transmission and see what happened. It’s a 52k car, it should not be repairs, it should be replaced under warranty. Video of 8900 from dealership https://video. 37483. Net/timeline/2cjthew6.
Driving at 55mph, suddenly the traction control blinks on & off, the vehicle starts skipping. Next, service stabilitrack system appears and I almost come to a complete stop, engine running at reduced power appears. I barely made it to the side of the road, traffic was heavy at the time. This is apparently a common issue with other owners and could be a number of different sensors, parts malfunctioning.

Was waiting on dealership to catch up to bring in for a transmission problem. I know it is transmission related due to not wanting to shift properly and the fact my friend has same make and model only about 100000 more miles than mine does was doing same symptoms and she took to 3 or 4 mechanics and all said nothing wrong. . No codes show up. . . Needless to say after about 2 months it stalled out on her on interstate with speed limit 75 and she barely moving. I myself was at a sharp curve in turn lane waiting on traffic and when I braked to stop it made horrible sound and felt like brake was pushed through floorboard. When I was clear to go I push accelerator down to the floor and am barely inching along and am now stuck in the road in a 90 curve where its hard to see traffic coming. This was very scary and traumatic having this happen. I'm just glad it was only myself and the other drivers were being observant and paying attention to the road. This has happened a lot compared to research on blogs car complaints websites. The common problem is it doesn't give a code when diagnostic checked. 99% of cases show they best guess or find something else wrong and you pay 3 or 4 charges until you finally convince them its the transmission and then you're out 5000. Not counting the average 4500 you've already pd due to not listening to the driver of their vehicle and causing unnecessary charges and leaving you without a vehicle too long that isn't necessary.
The Acadia 2020 while in slow motion approaching my private condominium parking spot, accelerated autonomously and then slammed into the cement wall. Airbags deployed, no warning of collision, seriously damaged both car and cement wall. No bodily injuries. I researched the possible cause coded p2138 which involves the drive by wire sensors which connect the throttle pedal and the cpu that controls the mechanical throttle gas system. That might be the cause of the autonomous acceleration like explained about the p2138 sensors issues.

The contact owns a 2013 GMC Acadia. The contact stated while driving 50 mph, the accelerator pedal was depressed and ceased on the floorboard. The contact stated that there was no warning light illuminated. The vehicle was towed to whiteside Chevrolet Buick GMC Cadillac (50714 national rd e, st clairsville, OH 43950) where it was diagnosed however, nothing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The contact was referred to file a complaint with product liability. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
My car whined and groaned when you turn the wheel so I took it in and had the power steering pump replaced and now my wheel. Wont turn at all . Upon reading many complaints with this vehicle found it may be the rack and pinion I am. Going to have to tow to a different mechanic to see if the new problem is covered under warranty.
The vehicle was purchased brand new from serra GMC in washington michigan in April 2020. It has been back to the dealer 5 times for the same issue, with another 4 times that it was not taken into dealer! reoccurring issue involves the instrument cluster, all gages and visual indicators go to zero (speed, tach, fuel, temp, etc. . . ) as well as getting a notification that the traction control is disabled, the abs is disabled, cruise is disabled, and other electronic aid. This happens at highway speeds and to loose all function is a safety concern, it is not repeatable and happens randomly but it is the same issue. The dealer claims to fix the issue but it always comes back. Gm has told me to accept the issue as its not detectable however this is unacceptable as it puts my family at risk. I have videos of the instrument cluster going to zero but its to big to attached - I can provide it if you contact me or tell me how to share it.
The SUV starts to pull when gear switches to the next gear making my SUV not change gear took it to a mechanical they say it's the adjust clutches it should be recall but it's not.
Tl-the contact owns a 2017 GMC arcadia. The contact stated while stopped with the vehicle in park. The shift to park message was displayed and an abnormal chime was detected. The vehicle was not diagnosed ore repaired. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 25,000. Ap.
While in motion- blind spot sensors turn on when they should not and vice versa. Traction control has failed multiple times while driving. Predictive braking has activated improperly multiple times while driving. Cameras went out and then battery completely died. Was told fixing battery would fix vehicle. This has proven to be untrue. Vehicle is currently in for service for third time. Remains under warranty, as I have had it three months. Most recent date has been used but I've had problems since literally the first full day I have had it.
I turned the car off and it displays a message shift to park, even though the car is in park. It doesn't allow the car to shut off completely. The engine turns off, but the electrical stays on. When we try to drive it, it is slow to accelerate and the rpms shoot to 4 and don't go down unless breaking. Finally the car will not accelerate past 55mph and the rpms stay at 4, with the engine being very noisy. This left us stranded an hour from our house because the vehicle is not safe to drive. Fortunately this occurred in a parking lot. We drove a few miles to try to get to our dealership, but did not feel safe driving.
When trying to put in park won't shut off says shift to park, started around 25,000 miles have to be sure vehicle is level and not on an incline. Vehicle also surges at times loosing power when you're going down the highway. Also, at times when you go to start vehicle it will hesitate and disconnects from battery thus resetting everything. Had to replace battery at 25,000 . The rear wiper will go on it's on without turning it on.
My lift gate door fell and hit me in the head out of no where and my car is not on the list for the recall for that exact problem. My airbag indicator goes off all the time even if no one is in the front seat. My speedometer barely works, it goes completely around and I can't get it to reset. I took it to the shop just to be told it's a sensor that causes it along with the slow cranking but they didn't know which one it was because my car has 4.
The rpm gauge is fluctuating up an down when I'm driving down the road, highway, city roads it is happening when cold or warm and it don't matter if it's flat roads or a incline. It been happening more an more now.
I've had electrical issues with the radio. Every single time it rains the speakers go out. Noticed there was water in the electrical connectors on all the doors which also affected my windows from going up and down. More importantly, the transmission is shot now. Was driving to the store, stopped at a stop light, and when it turned green, I hit the gas. My car didn't go. I kept my foot on the pedal with the same amount of pressure and it started to go, but after a few seconds it just kicked real hard into first gear. Felt like someone rear ended me. Every time I stopped it kept doing it. Took it to the mechanic and apparently I need a new transmission and timing chain. The car is only 10 years old and I bought the car 5 years ago from gunn Honda. This is ridiculous! constant problems with this car!.
Takara recall it keeps shutting completely down in the middle of highway and this affects everything steering, complete loss of power to vehicle. No codes to indicate something is wrong !!!! extremely dangerous this has continued to occur even after parts have been replaced brand new. More than 5 times already. This will most certainly lead to death. I have 3 children with me at all times. That's 4 life's that could be lost because of this problem!!!! . We have been extremely lucky because it has shit down in the middle of the night and bridges where there is nowhere to get on the side but remain in the lanes where traffic is 70 mph and up!!!! this needs to be recalled immediately!!!!.
This vehicle has been a problem since I purchased it. Unfortunately, my state does not have a lemon law for used vehicles so I have been stuck with repair after repair. #1 the battery. I purchased this vehicle in 2016 and I have had to replace the battery twice already. This vehicle has killed cells in multiple batteries. #2 the transmission. When I initially purchased this vehicle occasionally it would not smoothly shift into 3rd gear. I took it back to the dealer multiple times, but of course the issue would replicate during their test drive so they couldn't diagnose the issue. The issue is that the truck will not shift correctly, but the problem normally corrects if you turn the vehicle off and then turn it back on. The problem is that you never know when the truck will not shift gears. This is problematic when you have a toddler in the vehicle and need to get on the highway and all of the sudden the vehicle will not shift in to 3rd gear, then you have to try to safely find a shoulder and hope that turning off/turning on the vehicle will fix the issue. Sometimes it's a 1x fix; other times the vehicle has to the restarted 3x times before the vehicle will change gears correctly. Diagnosis from 1 mechanic, something is sticking in the transmission and the entire transmission needs to be replaced #3 timing chain. This is the most recent issue. It began with an onset of a check engine light and multiple codes about a crankshaft sensor, O2 sensors, etc. Originally the mechanic was going to replace the sensors, but insists on replacing the timing chain assembly based on the information discovered about vehicles using the same parts and recalls it's unfortunate to discover that this vehicle hasn't had a recall issued for any of these issues knowing that they pose safety risks for drivers and passengers, especially children and the elderly.

In motion on the highway 401 north ontario canada, the vehicle erratically increased speed and brakes were noir effective, lost control of the steering wheel which caused a massive accident involving multiple cars and resulted in multiple injuries.
My Acadia stalls during acceleration usually while going about 40-50 mph and pressing gas pedal to increase to highway speeds. Its happened numerous times over the past several months.
While driving 45mph on a straightaway highway , three warnings came on "reduced engine power" "service stabilitrak" and "traction control off" then the vehicle lost power cars behind me and nowhere to pull off the car had lost power it would not get over fifteen mph. Taking it into be serviced . I have already had the transmission replaced.

On 4 separate occasions within a 3 week period the vehicle would accelerate while driving without driver prompts or control (rpms revved from 2000 to over 6000 and speed would increase from 50 mph to over 85 mph with accelerator pegged to the floor. ) the only way to correct this was to put the vehicle in neutral, coast to the side of the road, stop the vehicle and turn off the engine for 10-15 minutes, then restart it and it would run normally for short periods of time. If I drove the vehicle for more than 30 minutes at a time it would react this way every time and nearly caused me to hit 2 vehicles on the interstate. On one occasion I had to impact a guardrail to slow the vehicle down. I took the vehicle to a certified GMC dealership who stated on both occasions they could not repeat the problem after driving it for 5-10 minutes or less than 15 miles. When I informed them that it only occurred after 30-45 minutes of driving, the technician stated he didn't have time to drive the vehicle that length of time or distance and went on to say no diagnostic codes were tripped so there wasn't any repairs he could do or that GMC would authorized. The vehicle was under warranty. . Read more...
