One problem related to tailgate latch has been reported for the 2002 GMC C2500. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
While traveling with the tailgate down I ran over a speed bump and the tailgate came loose and was hanging by the safety cables. The right hinge point was bent and could not be straightened. Will replace both hinge points.
