Tl the contact owns a 2016 GMC Canyon. The contact stated that the fuel tank was missing the metal skid plate and fuel leaked from the vehicle. When the contact approached the vehicle, he noticed the fire department was present to inspect the vehicle. The contact also noticed a strong fuel odor coming from the vehicle. The vehicle was towed to a repair shop. The vehicle was not taken to a dealer or independent mechanic for diagnostic testing or repairs. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure.
