I just purchased a 2018 GMC Canyon used with 8,000 miles on it. Drove it 500 miles and now I have a 8 speed transmission and now it shudders. Now I'm reading alot of people are having issues with it. Am I in the lawsuit with gm in there defective transmissions? it shudders at 55-60 mph drove me nuts on the highway.

Transmission consistently shudders when accelerating in all driving conditions and speeds, and sometimes goes to higher rpms when engine is warm and restarted. Dealer said this was normal when recently brought in. It was not showing any codes. Dealer said not to keep 4x4 in auto mode. Less than a week after receiving truck back from dealer, a 4 wheel drive warning message was displayed and the car would not go into 4 wheel drive or auto. Message and problem comes and goes. Shuddering should not occur and keeping in auto more during rain and cold weather is a safety precaution that should not be an issue.

Transmission started shuddering very badly when taking off from a stop sign under wet conditions. This occurred when throttle was reduced after the rear wheels broke traction. Gm knows about the transmission issues and the dealership has refused to repair it.

When moving on the highway the vehicles transmission starts to shudder. This usually happens when I am going up a slight incline and my engine is around 1400 rpms. I have taken the truck to the dealership multiple times over this issue. They have replaced the transmission fluid twice and the next appointment is next week on October 31st. The dealership told me that more than likely they will have to flush the transmission fluid again because gm is not letting them do much more with this issue. The truck also has a hard time shifting when it is first started until it gets warmed up. Also there are times I feel like I have been rear ended when I am slowing down and it is down shifting. I have noticed that if I keep the truck at a fairly higher rpm that it does not shudder as bad and doesn't feel as dangerous to drive. My vehicle has 27,000 miles on it and has been in the shop countless times since I purchased it in 2018. I don't even like driving it because I feel that it is a safety concern and is endangering myself and others.
The GMC 2017 Canyon vibrates at highway speed 60mph to 70mph. The 2nd day after I bought it took it on long trip found it had vibration problems. After taking it to the dealership for tire balance twice replaced front wheel bearing then transmission flush. Then after transmission flush had vibration between 40-45 they said it was normal that there was nothing else they could do. Due to vibrations over time this concerns me. For being stranded or worse causing an accident from something coming loose. I`ve already had to tighten up my spare tire. I bought this pickup for long trips since I`ve retired. Like the one my wife and I are going on in June of this year. I also feel if there going to sell crap like this they need to put the vibration issues on the accessory `list so buyers will have the option whether to buy or not. I would have not bought a $40,000. 00 vibrator!!!.
