One problem related to turn signal switch has been reported for the 2000 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
I am the original owner of a 2000 GMC jimmy Envoy. I smelled burning plastic as I was driving and was told by another motorist that I had no brake lights. The lights came on and stayed on and then they would not work. I took the vehicle to a local repair shop to replace the turn signal & hazard warning switch. This corrected the brake light problem. After reading about the reason for the recall of these switches, I disassembled the old switch only to find that it also had brass contacts for the hazard warning lamps. This was supposedly replaced in 2003 by a dealer. Replacing it with the same part that was recalled!.
