1 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 12/20/2019

I just had my brakes serviced and my bushings changed, but my abs light still comes on. Also when I go to brake the car starts to shake and I'm going the speed limit. The engine has a rough idle, and shuts off when at a complete stop and when the vehicle is in motion. I've had many things replaced on the vehicle, such as purge valve, gas cap. Charcoal canister and fuel tank. In the engine the spark plugs were changed as well as the coil packs and the fuel injectors. Along with the camshaft sensor. Still getting p0455 and po0014. Won't pass smog can't register vehicle, but my only means of transportation. 2004 GMC Envoy xuv slt 4dr 2wd.

2 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 09/01/2016

Vehicle has had strong odor or raw fuel coming from driving side wheel well. Had mechanic check this out and I was told this has a fuel leak near the fuel filter / filler neck and possible gas tank issue which is close to the exhaust pipe. This is a known issue from gm owners but recall has not been advised. Informed gm of issue on 10/26 but they will not fix. This will cost upwards of $1100-$1600 to fix.

3 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2014

About 9-10 months ago started noticing a fuel smell around back of truck. Replaced gas cap, but the odor continued. Inquired at local dealer, but was told they could not determine the cause. Tried a local mechanic that I had used before, but at that time, they claimed they found no cause either. On my third trip to local mechanic, was informed that there is a crack in my filler/gas tank causing the smell. Finally they found the cause only to inform me that now my truck is beyond the mileage and/or date of the 'recall' that I was never informed about by GMC about my gas tank, and it will only cost "about" $1200 to replace my gas tank. I've resided in the same home well longer than I've owned my truck, so my home address, phone number and email are all still the same as they were then, and had no notification that their was any type of recall on my truck. Have tried emailing and snail mailing GMC on many numerous occasions to see if I could get any help with the unknown of recall, but have yet to receive any answer whats so ever from them at all. Obviously, if I had the disposable income, I would not be pursuing another solution, but like many, I continue to live paycheck to paycheck and my truck is the main lifeline to maintain what little I can provide. If you could pass along any information about possible recall assistance I can receive, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

4 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 03/05/2014

I purchased the vehicle March of 2014 from sunset motors in coeur d alene, id. The following day the car died and I took it back to the dealer where they told me the fuel pump needed replaced; which they replaced. I left the dealership after the repair was completed and filled my gas tank when I began to smell a strong odor of gas. I pulled away from the pump and looked under the vehicle to see gas leaking from what appeared to be the fuel tank. I took it back to the dealership and they said that the neck of the gas tank was cracked and they would repair it. I left with the vehicle after sunset motors stated the repair was done on the gas tank. The check engine light came on the following day. The code was reading p0455 large evap leak. I have tried replacing the gas cap as recommended by autozone where I took the vehicle to have the code read. The light continued to come on over the course of months. I recently took it to aamco after my vehicle started vibrating while in idle where they informed me that the crack in the neck of the fuel tank was still apparent and fuel tank needed replaced. After doing research I have found this is a common problem for this vehicle and gm had offered to extend the warranty when research into safety was done previously which was accepted and no recall was done. Gm has stated the warranty has expired. I feel that the leak in the neck of the fuel tank is a manufactures defect as there is no known reason for a crack to happen in the fuel tank. Like I said previously I have found numerous reports of this happening to others with the same vehicle. I feel that it is a safety concern and fear the possibilities of what could happen to my vehicle with myself and young children in the vehicle until I am able to afford to replace the fuel tank. I would appreciate this being looked in to and the safety around the defect.

5 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 07/22/2013

My GMC's service engine soon light went on and I took into the shop. They stated that there is a fuel issue for the fuel cap and that the fuel tank needs to be replaced because it leaks. This is a manufacturers defect and this part should never "wear out" over time or due to the number of miles driven. GMC needs to stand behind their vehicle and replace this part for free!.

6 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2012

Check engine light came on. Had auto parts store check it and said could be the fuel cap. Put new fuel cap on and after a while the light came back on. I looked under the vehicle but saw nothing out of the ordinary. The light would go off for a while then back on. I bought a second fuel cap. Had same results. Now after an internet search I find out the fuel tanks can leak around the filler spout on the tank. I looked at mine and it was seeping. But gm. Website says there is no recall for my vehicle.

7 Other Fuel System Hoses Lines/piping, And Fittings problem

Failure Date: 10/17/2007

My Envoy has had the check engine light on for years, and the smell of gas, went to GMC and they said need new gas cap, didn,t work, went to another car repair need new gas cap, same thing over and over again, every month on my onstar report, said I had emission problems, they tested the car, looks like it could be you need a new gas cap. . . . . A few months ago my GMC would not start, call aaa to pick up Envoy and take in the charles shop near my home. . . . As the auto was being put on the trailer, I saw gas dripping from the area of the gas tank. . . . Went to charles repair to them about what I saw and explained that for you I have been trying to find out what was wrong with the gas cap, and the smell of gas. . . Well the checked it out and found my gas tank had a crack in it and I would need a new gas tank cost around $900. 00, I paid them for the starting problem that they fixed and took the GMC home, I live in florida and I was reading the Sunday paper and there is an article, about GMC recalls, about how the warm weather states having a problem with a plastic part might crack and cause a fuel leak. . Well this is what happened to my GMC, how do I get my car repaired by GMC, what can I do to get it fixed, I only put $20 to $30 of gas at a time ,in the car because I don't want gas leaking and might cause a fire. Help me please.
