Steering Tie Rod Assembly problems of the 2005 GMC Envoy

1 Steering Tie Rod Assembly problem

Failure Date: 04/15/2012

The contact owns a 2005 GMC Envoy. The contact stated that while driving approximately 50 mph, the steering wheel began to steer on its own to the left and right. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic for a diagnostic test. The mechanic stated that the front driver’s side wheel bearing, the outer tie rods, and the upper ball joints would have to be replaced. The tie rod and the wheel bearing were replaced. Also, whenever the contact drove over an uneven surface or turned, a clunking sound could be heard coming from the rear end of the vehicle. There were no further repairs performed. The approximate failure mileage was 69,700.
