Two problems related to tank filler pipe and cap have been reported for the 2005 GMC Envoy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Failure of fuel guage resulting in stall in traffic, dealer repair requred replacement of sender, fuel pump and fuel filter all located in fuel tank.
2005 GMC Envoy xl with 49000 miles fuel gauge not working properly, will show empty after filling up then show full. Gauge will then show 3/4 full then 1/2 full after only 10 to 20 miles. Before 100 miles gauge will drop down to empty fuel light will come on and beep. This will happen till tank empty, I never know how much fuel is in truck. I have read that it could be fuel cap, so I replaced it but no fix. I have run out of gas on highway a couple of times already. This problem has been the same through 20 fill ups. Can you help,from what I have heard runs from 600 to 1000 dollars.
