2 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 07/30/2018

My vehicle just suddenly stopped dead, in the road after leaving my residence and all control was lost. Unable to put transmission in neutral to push vehicle off road. I had it repaired by a trained mechanic and was told it was a faulty ignition. I had the faulty ignition replaced and the vehicle was operational again along with the worry of this happening again.

3 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2018

02. 05. 2018 -- was at a superbowl party and my car was parked for 5 hours outside, it was about 20 degrees. Had a 10 minute drive home - parked car in garage and shut the garage door. While driving, I did use rear defroster and wiper blade, as there was snow on back window and it was snowing. Approximately 15 minutes after parking the vehicle,I heard a loud blast, like someone drove through my garage door. The rear window of my GMC Envoy exploded into many pieces. Glass was inside and outside the vehicle. My garage is not heated. I have no idea how it happened. I called my insurance company immediately and am going to drive the car to a GMC dealership to have it fixed.

4 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 09/19/2016

I was driving the SUV on the freeway when a fire started under the hood. I came off the freeway and watched Envoy become completely engulfed in flames as fire department work to put it out. Vehicle completely destroyed. No known issues with vehicle prior to its inferno moment.

5 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 08/20/2015

I put the car in park and shut the vehicle off and pulled the key out of the ignition. The car remained running with the key out and in order to shut it off we had to pop the hood and pull out a relay. We then tried restarting the car and it started with the key turned backwards. It wasn't driveable at this time because it was spitting and sputtering. We replaced the ignition switch and it was working for a few days and now its back to doing the same thing.

6 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/18/2014

Check engine light is on. According to tests it is the result of a defective throttle position sensor. The light will stay on for a couple of days and then go off for a couple of days creating a error message that something is wrong with the engine. With it going on and coming off it is now difficult for me to get my inspection completed with the sensor reading not being accurate.

7 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 05/23/2014

The vehicle rear air compressor air deflates over night or after sitting for a while. Air compressor.

8 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 12/02/2013

Pump for emission control system malfunction, all wheels bearings are bad,.

9 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 06/05/2013

As we were driving, all of a sudden we hear this extremely loud blast coming from the rear of the vehicle. We look back and seen that the rear glass was shattered. We then pulled over ASAP to examine the damages. I then began to take pictures using my cell phone. Not to mention my 13,11&4 month old kids was in the back seat when this occurred. We are still shakened up from this situation at hands. This could of been a far more worst situation. This is definitely a defect and need to have a recall. I've only owned the SUV for 2 days I will be returning the next day.

10 Equipment problem

Failure Date: 01/15/2012

In January, 2012, after a day of making several stops (church, visit family, movie), we stopped for a late night dinner). The restaurant was closing, so we returned to the vehicle in less than 5 minutes. When we returned to the vehicle, the car would not start. After several unsuccessful attempts, we had to have the truck towed. Since it was late night, we had to have the vehicle toweed to the home and then to a repair shop. After being in the repair shop for several days and after several diagnstic tests,, we were told the ignition switch was replaced. Since this 1st incident in 2012, this has occurred at least 10 times. After one incident in 2013, we bought a new battery. After 2 weeks, the new battery was dead and we received a new battery. However, the veicle not starting occurred at least another 3 times. After replacing the battery twice, we heard there was an ignition switch recall for GMC vehicles. When I contacted gm, they told me the recall was for other makes and models, but not on the Envoy. My concern is we don't know when the car will start or not. We have also had the starter checked several times & was told it's not the starter. It appears no one is able to determine why the vehicle does not start and when it will happen. I am concerned for my safety - when it's going to happen, where will I be. , if I am close to home or not and will we have to incur another towing charge.
