Four problems related to fuel injector have been reported for the 1996 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel injector defective.
Fuel injector sticks, causing misfire.
Metal chafing sound coming from engine, causing the vehicle to stall. Dealer has replaced injector /fuel pump/oxygen sensor, and purge valve, defect is still occurring.
Defect in fuel injector is causing engine to completly die, loss of brakes, no power steering. Defect is still occurring . Dealer has replaced fuel injector twice. GMC has stated there is a problem, but cannot fix problem.
