Four problems related to tank assembly have been reported for the 1996 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Fuel tank does not pressurize properly. Service engine soon warning light on.
Fuel tank failed, causing leakage at the top of tank.
Fuel tank sending unit replaced due to an electrical short.
Tank failed causing leaking and fumes.
