One problem related to speed control linkage has been reported for the 1996 GMC Jimmy. The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Had just placed vehicle in cruise control. Inadvertently pushed shift too far into neutral. This caused engine to roar & not leave cruise control. Applied brakes quickly & vehicle went into a skid. Abs did not work. Hit an embankment & rolled over. Engine was disconnected.
