Automatic Transmission Cooler problems of the 1997 GMC Safari

Three problems related to automatic transmission cooler have been reported for the 1997 GMC Safari. The most recently reported issues are listed below.

1 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 01/25/2001

This problem rless than 30 days after purchasing the van, it was supposed to have been fixed at the original dealership 12k ago, but this problem has reocurred. In addition, have had a power window motor go out, blower fan burn up, transmission fluid leaks after being serviced by dealership and lastly a fuel gauge that refuses to work.

2 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2000

Transmission cooling lines leak at crimps where rubber meets the metal.

3 Automatic Transmission Cooler problem

Failure Date: 06/27/1999

The battery cable line hanging over the the top of the transmission cooling line going into the intake/outtake maniford, which cut it in half. The transmission caught on fire. Contacted the dealer.
