1 Carburetor problem of the 2000 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 07/02/2005

Throttle sticks when driving on cruse control and upon start up after sitting all night. My gm delaer blames upon the cheep blend of fuel. I was told by another mechanic that gm replaced and repaired may of the throttle bodies with this condition. My vehicle was not recalled. I could clear this condition by taping on the accelerator. My last trip had the acellerator stick and I was unable to clear the condition.

2 Carburetor problem of the 1997 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 02/22/2004

The baffle on the throttle body came loose, causing the throttle to remain wide open. This was a very dangerous situation and could have resulted in a serious accident.

3 Carburetor problem of the 1996 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 07/15/2000

Intake manifold gasket - needed replaced with less than 70k miles on van. Heater fan dashboard switch - when set on floor heat only, it blows out both at the defroster and the floor. Windshield wiper motor - after it stopped working, we grounded the motor and it started working again - now it works intermittently, but not when you usually need it most. Driver's side window motor - failed and required replacement. Air conditioning tube - became brittle and broke - repaired it and the a/c works correctly again.

4 Carburetor problem of the 1996 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 04/08/2000

Alternator had to be replaced. Then, air conditioner was blowing hot air, and consumer took vehicle to a repair shop. They told her that intake manifold was rubbing against a block connecting with air conditioning unit, and this was causing air conditioning coolant to run out onto the ground.
