Fuel pump went out at 4,500 miles dealer replaced with new fuel pump, then it went out again around 5,000 miles. Replaced fuel pump again then at 115,000 miles fuel pump again went out. Dealer acted like that's no surprise to him.

2 Fuel Pump problem of the 2000 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 12/06/2004

The consumer was driving at 40 mph, when the vehicle shut down. The vehicle had to be towed. It was discovered the fuel pump was defective.

3 Fuel Pump problem of the 1996 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 03/15/2002

Windshield wipers do not operate - recalled - dealer claims it was repaired, now wipers operate whenever it feels like it. Both torsion rods failed without warning within 1 day apart of each other. Mechanic revealed that gm now has a special technique to be done when this happens and it costs an extra $90 to repair. Which means they are aware of the problem and will not recall the vehicles and replace at their cost. Broken spark plug almost killed my family. Fuel pump went out. Driver's side window does not roll down, driver's side view mirror does not operate.

4 Fuel Pump problem of the 1996 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 06/01/2001

Consumer had 8 fuel pumps put into vehicle since she had it. Fuel pump keeps failing, causing vehicle to completely shut off with no warning.

5 Fuel Pump problem of the 1997 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 01/01/2001

While driving 40 mph engine stalled. Dealer replaced fuel pump. On July 1 while driving 50 mph engine stalled again. Fuel pump needed to be replaced again.

6 Fuel Pump problem of the 1997 GMC Safari

Failure Date: 01/01/1901

Ongoing problems with defective components on consumer's two vans. Each van has had problems withit's transmission, alternator, motors for door and windows, catalytic converter, fuel pump, oxygen sensors and windshield wiper motor. The consumer has two GMC Safari's both 1997 models. Their VIN's are 1gkdm19w8vb539209 and 1gkdm19w2vb546740.

7 Fuel Pump problem of the 1999 GMC Safari

Fuel pump very noisy-dealer says its normal-I have yet to hear another van make the same noise!! I am completely dissatisfied with this vehicle. G. M. Is not standing behind their product.
